Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems have exciting career opportunity for a Network Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position location is in Huntsville, AL.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide specific detailed information for hardware and software selections, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
Conduct testing of network design.
Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnections and interfacing, such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, multiplexers, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
Evaluate and report on new communication technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
The positions are normally day shift hours, but there will be periods where off hours work will be required. The Candidate will be required to be part of an on-call rotation.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 2 years of related work experience, or a Master's Degree and 0-2 years of related work experience.
Must possess a DoD 8570 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA)
General user experience configuring and administering Linux/Windows applications
Working knowledge of Cybersecurity technologies, NIST standards, and RMF governance
Experience scripting, installing, and testing patches on system hosts
Experience applying Cybersecurity configurations such as Firmware updates/upgrades and STIGs to a baselined system
Must be able to support an in-person / closed-area work environment.
Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time to support business needs.
Applicants must have a current active in-scope U.S. Government issued Secret security clearance at the time of application and is required to start.
Preferred Qualifications:
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher
Hands on experience with Ansible and/or Powershell scripting
Familiarization with Hypervisor operation to support Virtual Machines.
