Hastings Deering is seeking a Network Engineer to join our team based in Archerfield on a permanent, full-time basis.
In this role, you will support the Senior Network Analyst in ensuring our communications and infrastructure environment is managed to maximise service availability for our customers. You will play a key role in maintaining, monitoring and improving our network performance across LAN, WAN, voice and cyber security environments.

As a Network Engineer you will:
- Support the administration and ongoing performance of communications and network infrastructure
- Monitor network capacity and performance, proactively identifying and escalating potential issues
- Provide Level 2 support to Helpdesk and remote IT teams, including documentation, procedures and training
- Assist in delivering network and infrastructure projects with scalable, secure and resilient solutions
- Maintain and support network hardware, firewalls and cyber security systems including email and internet filtering
- Support and maintain telephony systems, including VoIP infrastructure
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aligned to Hastings Deering’s IT strategy
- Assist in the operational management of LAN, WAN, WLAN, voice, data and security environment

About You
A successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or equivalent
- Cisco CCNA certification (or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working with LAN/WAN technologies and Cisco networking equipment
- Strong troubleshooting capability across data and voice networks
- Experience supporting network infrastructure including routing, switching and firewalls
- Ability to produce clear technical documentation and network diagrams
- Exposure to network security technologies, including email and internet filtering
Highly regarded:
- Advanced knowledge of LAN/WAN/WLAN technologies
- Experience with Cisco networking technologies and methodologies
- Exposure to Cisco Unified Communications (UC) and UCCX environments
- Experience in network design and implementation
