We are looking for a skilled Network Engineer to become part of our Civica Team. This position demands a solid background in Infrastructure Engineering along with extensive experience in wide-area networking technologies and enterprise environments.

As a Network Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting, maintaining, monitoring, and enhancing our global network infrastructure. Your efforts will ensure that our network services are consistently stable, secure, and fully operational across office locations, cloud platforms, data centers, and enterprise connectivity services worldwide.

As a key member of the Level 2 team, you will take the lead in delivering independent support, troubleshooting challenges, and driving impactful changes across our global network environment—empowering both daily operations and groundbreaking infrastructure transformation projects.

You will work closely with platform engineers, hardware engineers, and other network engineers, serving as an escalation point for tactical network issues raised by Support and Operations teams.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Provide operational assistance for global office and connectivity services.
  • Monitor network health, performance and availability to proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Independently troubleshoot switching, routing, firewall, wireless and connectivity services, using monitoring and diagnostic data.
  • Execute operational changes within approved standards, including patching, firmware upgrades and maintenance activities.
  • Assist with infrastructure deployment, migration, and transformation initiatives.
  • Work with colleagues, stakeholders and vendors to resolve issues and maintain service stability.
  • Maintain technical documentation, standards and runbooks. ·
  • Escalate complex or systemic issues where required.
  • Support continual improvement initiatives focused on stability, standardisation and automation.

Requirements

What you will bring:

Mandatory Technical Competencies

  • Experience in supporting enterprise environments utilizing Fortinet, Cisco, and Meraki technologies.
  • Layer 2 switching technologies and the design/troubleshooting of VLANs.
  • Firewall operations, Layer 3 routing technologies, and policy management, along with Azure network connectivity (VPN) expertise.
  • Concepts of Internet Breakout and SD-WAN.
  • Experience with High Availability (HA) and failover systems.
  • Diagnosing network issues and analysing packets and logs.
  • Using Grafana to monitor networks.
  • Capable of comprehending and implementing structured change management procedures.

Highly Desirable Technical Competencies

  • Fortinet platform optimisation
  • IDS/IPS and network security technologies
  • Network monitoring, automation or scripting
  • GitHub and IaC practices
  • Azure Networking
  • Network diagnostic tools (Wireshark)

Desirable Qualifications

  • Fortinet FCSS in Security Operations
  • Fortinet FCP in Secure Networking
  • Cisco CCNP
  • Cisco CCNA Cybersecurity
