Leidos is seeking a junior level Network Engineer in support of NASA’s National Security Systems team. This role is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization. Additional responsibilities include providing quick reaction support to the Operations team and the NASA customer to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system problems.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Maintain and modify networks and network components supporting data, voice and video communication activities.
• Perform configuration, preventative maintenance, fault isolation of local/remote LAN equipment, and possess a detailed knowledge of and experience with various Cisco product lines.
• Duties may include reviewing specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture; providing information for hardware and software selection; and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
• Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switchers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
• Conduct testing of network systems and associated devices.
• Evaluate and report on new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
• Ensure data integrity and storage meet Federal standards.
• Conduct audit of equipment and production systems and create appropriate reports.
• Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
• Basic understanding of network infrastructure design, routed data protocols, and hardware platforms.
• Basic understanding of technologies such as DHCP, DNS, SSH, TCP, and UDP.
• Experience in WAN and LAN, routing, switching, and firewalls.
• Basic understanding of security device architecture, engineering, and installation/management.
• Demonstrate basic knowledge of Cisco Firewalls.
• Knowledge in Operating Systems such as Windows, Cisco IOS, and RHEL.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of Riverbed Steel Central Appliances
• Knowledge of Splunk
• Knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications
• Knowledge of NSA type 1 encryption devices
Education:
• Bachelor with 5 years of experience, AA/AS with 8 years of experience, or HS with 12 years of experience
Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
Required Certifications:
• CompTIA Network+
• CompTIA Security+

Pay Range:Pay Range $68,900.00 - $124,550.00
