The Network Engineer is responsible for the provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of network systems, hardware, software, and related infrastructure. This role requires more than 6 years of hands-on experience with advanced networking technologies, firewalls, switches, site-to-site connectivity, and cloud networking. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in routing, switching, BGP, Anycast, firewalls (Barracuda preferred), Cisco Nexus/Catalyst, Aruba, Ruckus, and Kubernetes networking (Cilium/Calico). The engineer must demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills, the ability to design and document detailed network diagrams, and the ownership mindset to ensure reliable and scalable network operations.

Quick Take - 
▪ Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain all network devices, including switches, routers, firewalls, and CNIs.

▪ Manage and support firewalls (Barracuda preferred), IDS/IPS, and perimeter security solutions.

▪ Configure and troubleshoot Cisco Nexus & Catalyst switches, Aruba and Ruckus switches/wireless environments.

▪ Architect and manage BGP routing, Anycast deployments, and dynamic routing strategies.

▪ Manage site-to-site VPNs, ISP relationships, and WAN connectivity to ensure resilient network performance.

▪ Monitor, diagnose, and resolve network and computer system issues including network switch connectivity issues.

▪ Provide hands-on expertise in Azure cloud networking (VNets, VPN gateways, firewalls, and hybrid connectivity).

▪ Implement and troubleshoot Kubernetes networking using CNIs such as Cilium or Calico.

▪ Troubleshoot performance issues with networks, and applications such as DNS, and https.

▪ Create and maintain detailed network documentation and topology diagrams.

▪ Troubleshoot critical network issues and provide on-call support, including weekends, for outages and escalations.

▪ Provide solutions to complex problems on the integration of various technologies.

▪ Get on troubleshooting calls at short notice and work with operations and OEMs to resolve.

▪ Design plans as well as lead initiatives for the optimization and restructuring of network architecture.

▪ Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of network administration and firmware integration.

▪ Monitor the environmental conditions of a data center to ensure they are optimum for servers, routers, and other devices.

▪ Lead initiatives for optimization, resiliency, and security hardening of network infrastructure.

▪ Collaborate with operations and OEM vendors to resolve complex network challenges.

The Must-Haves - 

▪ Strong expertise in routing and switching across enterprise and data center networks.

▪ Hands-on experience with firewalls (Barracuda preferred), ASA/FTD, and advanced perimeter security.

▪ Deep knowledge of Cisco Nexus & Catalyst switches, Aruba, and Ruckus networking.

▪ Practical experience with BGP and Anycast deployments.

▪ Experience with firewalls, Barracuda preferred.

▪ Experience of switching on network environment independent of the vendor. Cisco/Aruba/Rukus etc

▪ Hands-on experience with Kubernetes networking, including Container Network Interfaces (CNIs) such as Cilium or Calico.

▪ Understanding of Meraki Wifi access points along with Z/MX devices for VPN.

▪ Familiarity with Azure cloud networking (AWS/GCP a plus).

▪ Able to work with data teams across to rack/stack/provision and configure to run smooth operations.

▪ Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills in complex network environments.

▪ Proficiency with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Grafana, and equivalent.

▪ Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact across technical and non-technical teams.

▪ Ownership mindset with accountability for uptime and operational excellence.
▪ Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or equivalent practical experience.

▪ Cisco Certified – CCNP (preferred), CCNA minimum.

▪ Routing & Switching/IPS/IDS/ASA/FTD firewalls – 4-5 years.

▪ Practical exposure to containerized environments and CNIs like Cilium or Calico preferred.

▪ Experience designing and operating Anycast networks and configuring BGP in enterprise or data center environments preferred.

▪ Participation in at least 2 successful DR implementations and testing.
