Your day at NTT DATA

The L2 Network Engineer is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and troubleshooting the organization's network infrastructure. This role provides an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to build a career in networking by gaining hands-on experience with network equipment, monitoring tools, security technologies, and enterprise IT environments. The successful candidate will work closely with senior engineers to ensure the availability, performance, and security of network services.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Huawei Network Operations & Support

  • Monitor network performance and availability using network management tools.
  • Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network devices, including routers, switches, wireless access points, and firewalls.
  • Perform basic network troubleshooting and resolve connectivity issues.
  • Escalate complex network incidents to senior engineers when required.
  • Support Local Area Networks (LAN), Wireless LAN (WLAN), and Wide Area Networks (WAN).

Incident and Problem Management

  • Respond to network-related incidents and service requests within agreed service levels.
  • Investigate root causes of recurring network issues.
  • Participate in troubleshooting data, and wireless networking problems.
  • Document incidents, resolutions, and troubleshooting procedures.

Network Maintenance

  • Assist with software upgrades, patching, and firmware updates for network devices.
  • Perform routine health checks and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Support network backup and recovery processes.
  • Maintain accurate network diagrams and documentation.

Security and Compliance

  • Assist in implementing network security controls and standards.
  • Monitor firewall logs, network alerts, and security events.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and procedures.
  • Support vulnerability assessments and remediation activities.

Project Support

  • Assist with network deployment projects and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Participate in testing and validating new network solutions.
  • Support equipment installations and office/site network rollouts.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams including server, cloud, desktop, and cybersecurity teams.

Continuous Learning

  • Stay current with networking technologies and industry best practices.
  • Participate in training, certification programs, and technical workshops.
  • Develop knowledge of enterprise networking, cloud networking, and cybersecurity fundamentals.
