Job Title: Network Engineer
Location: Onsite – Stevenage (5 days a week)
Rate: £700 per day (Inside IR35)
Duration: Contract
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our team onsite in Stevenage. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong on-premises networking expertise and hands-on experience with enterprise-grade hardware and security platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and support on-premises network infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues across switching, routing, and firewall layers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain network performance and security.
- Provide documentation and support for ongoing network changes and upgrades.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven track record as a Network Engineer in complex environments.
- Strong knowledge of on-prem networking, including:
- Layer 2/3 switching and routing
- VLANs, VPNs, BGP, OSPF
- Network segmentation and high availability design
- Hands-on experience with Cisco network equipment (CCNP level or equivalent knowledge preferred).
- Good working knowledge of Fortinet (FortiGate) and Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
- Comfortable operating independently and proactively solving problems.
Additional Information:
- Must be able to commit to full-time onsite presence (5 days a week) in Stevenage.
- Role is inside IR35 – £700/day.
This role will require you to have or be willing to go through Security Clearance. As part of the onboarding process candidates will be asked to complete a Baseline Personnel Security Standard; details of the evidence required to apply may be found on the government website Gov.UK. If you are unable to meet this and any associated criteria, then your employment may be delayed, or rejected . Details of this will be discussed with you at interview.
