Primary Purpose:
The Platform engineer will support the engineering, delivery and operations for ADUSA's network platforms with a key focus on data center networks. The role will be responsible for the technical delivery and management of mission critical network infrastructure across ADUSA's data center and cloud network solutions. The sr. platform engineer will have responsibility for supporting the multi-year strategy to transform the network architecture, and all associated technologies and has overall responsibility for the delivery of all shared communication infrastructure, incident restoration, MSP and supplier management, and maintain secure connectivity and reliable application delivery for all brands.
This role ensures network infrastructure across retail locations, corporate offices and/or distribution centers can meet and exceed the performance and availability requirements set by the business. This role will support the operations, repairs, and improvement of all network platforms and will participate in day-to-day operations and troubleshooting efforts, working with external ADUSA partners and internal customers. This role will work closely with other network platform and product teams to create solid implementation and operations strategies. The sr network platform engineer will use broad knowledge of and experience in large scale networks and will bring a firm understanding of related disciplines and how they interoperate with network hardware and software devices and how to maintain technical alignment with all stakeholders for seamless network operations.
Our flexible/ hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. Our core office locations include Salisbury, NC , Chicago, IL, Quincy, MA, Carlisle, PA, Scarborough, ME, Hyattsville, MD and Mauldin, SC.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and support connectivity of all on-premises, cloud, and enterprise SaaS applications, working within other network product/platforms team and in partnership with service delivery organization
  • Participate in day-to-day operations and troubleshooting efforts, working with external RBS partners and internal customers such as the Hosting and Service Desk teams.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in network design, solution engineering, managing and overseeing the implementation and delivery of redundant, secure, and high performing network systems, infrastructure and related technologies.
  • Review and establish documentation and procedural standards and ensure these standards are being met and documentation is being maintained.
  • Oversee that project are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Experience and deep knowledge of datacenter technologies such as DDI platform and load balancers
  • Expertise with advanced routing, switching in datacenter environments
  • Experience with Cloud technologies including cloud-based firewalls, proxies and related technologies
  • Deep expertise with LAN/WAN/SDN connected infrastructures including deep understanding of VXLANs, NATs and tunneling protocols
  • Strong experience with Cisco, Arista, Palo Alta, Zscaler, F5, Aruba, technologies.
  • Experience with automation of network devices (routers, switches, protocol mediation devices) using Ansible, Python, and other automation scripting tools. Familiarity with Json, Strong Knowledge in the areas of fault monitoring, capacity management, configuration management, and performance management
  • Experience with complex routing and switching topologies in a Cisco environment, including ASR, Catalyst, and Nexus (NX-OS) equipment, using features such as ACI, OTV, OSPF, BGP, and similar
  • Experience with network management and monitoring tools such as Cisco DNA, Cisco Prime, SolarWinds, Gigamon, Splunk, and Panorama
  • Must have experience with Infoblox, F5, Cisco ACI and MS Azure
  • Act as a point of escalation to external ADUSA managed service providers in the incident management process, assisting in reviewing incident and problem data and driving continuous improvement
  • Work with the Network Architecture team to implement solutions by participating in strategy discussions, providing feedback to designs, and suggesting opportunities for continuous improvement through day-to-day involvement in operations
  • Support and influence analysis of business requirements to ensure that solutions meet established networking and company policies and controls
  • Monitor and manage the device lifecycle, including firmware maintenance, of all routers, switches, and wireless infrastructure


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, network technologies or a related field
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience with planning, building, and maintaining critical network architectures (WAN, LAN, VoIP, Collaboration, Security, and Wireless) in a large-scale heterogeneous technology environment
  • Very good technical foundation in networking (CCNA/CCNP/CCIE level equivalent)
  • Very good knowledge of L2&L3 technologies
  • Experience with setting up a distributed network setup in the lab and working closely with the team to maintain and support the lab for network design and testing


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of direct experience working in large scale networks
  • Holds certifications CCIE (Cisco), CCNP (Cisco), Aruba, Zscaler and Fortinet
  • Experience working in an agile (SAFe) environment
