Network Design Engineer

The Network Design Engineer is an intermediate level role responsible for datacenter network design and implementation in one of the largest private network environments in the world. You will play a significant role in the development of this infrastructure and further develop technical skills in a wide range of network engineering technologies with emphasis on datacenter fabric architectures and EVPN/VxLAN switching solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Translate technical and business requirements into network solutions, validate in test lab, publish findings and provide knowledge transfer internally

• Assemble high quality design documentation

• Conduct change planning with Build team and be available for consultancy

• Have expert knowledge of design standards

• Support the regional network engineering and operational teams with technical subject matter expertise

• Maintain knowledge base and offer innovative ideas that will enhance or solutions

• Ability to effectively communicate to internal clients through all available mediums (verbal, listening, writing, presenting)

• Willingness to stay on the leading edge of technology by learning new techniques

Qualifications:

• Excellent knowledge of OSPF, BGP, EIGRP and other common network protocols.

• Excellent understanding of core Cisco and Arista products

• Excellent understanding of IP Fabric and Datacenter architectures

• Excellent knowledge in one or more of the following : multicast routing protocols (PIM, MSDP, IGMP), IP LAN technologies, Dense Wave Division Multiplexing, DLSW, Voice over IP and IP telephony

• Experience with EVPN/VxLAN solutions and CoLo footprints

• Ability to think strategically

• Strong problem solving skills

• Goal and Delivery Oriented
