Job Description:
Parsons is seeking a Network/Computer Systems Administrator to support our cutting-edge Drone Armor counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS) program. This role focuses on the design, development, testing, evaluation, and administration of complex computer-based systems and business applications, including databases and modern storage/retrieval methods, to ensure reliable and secure support to mission-critical C-UAS operations.
What You'll Be Doing
System Design, Development & Evaluation
- Design, develop, test, and evaluate computer-based systems that support Drone Armor operational and business needs
- Participate in the full lifecycle of system development, from requirements through implementation and sustainment
- Ensure systems meet performance, scalability, reliability, and security requirements
Business Application Analysis & Design
- Analyze and design business applications on complex, large-scale systems
- Apply database management concepts and best practices in support of enterprise applications and data services
- Work with stakeholders to translate business and mission needs into system requirements and technical specifications
Data Management, Storage & Retrieval
- Apply knowledge of state-of-the-art storage and retrieval methods to design and support data architectures
- Support database structures and related services to ensure availability, integrity, and performance
- Recommend and help implement improvements to data access, storage, and backup/restore strategies
Specifications, Testing & Support to Development
- Formulate clear specifications for computer programmers and developers to use in coding, testing, and debugging computer programs
- Collaborate with software developers, database administrators, and other technical staff to ensure effective implementation of system designs
- Support the testing and evaluation of new or updated applications and systems to verify functionality and performance
What Required Skills You'll Bring
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related scientific/technical discipline is required with 5 years of experience
OR - 8 years of relevant systems/network administration or systems engineering experience may be substituted for education
Experience
- Experience in the design, development, testing, and evaluation of computer-based systems
- Specific experience in the analysis and design of business applications on complex, large-scale systems
- Experience working with database management concepts and data-driven applications
- Experience formulating specifications for programmers for use in coding, testing, and debugging
Technical Competencies
- Knowledge of modern storage and retrieval methods and related technologies
- Familiarity with enterprise systems, applications, and databases in a mission or business environment
- Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams (developers, DBAs, network engineers, users) to deliver and support complex systems
