Network Administrator

Job Description:

Job Summary: The Experienced Network Administrator (Fortinet Specialist) will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our company's network infrastructure with a strong focus on Fortinet products and solutions. This role requires in-depth knowledge of Fortinet technologies, network protocols, security, and performance management. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing complex network environments and ensuring high availability and security. Additionally, they will collaborate closely with the network engineer on various projects, maintenance tasks, and to ensure seamless uptime across global networks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage network infrastructure, with a primary focus on Fortinet products including FortiGate firewalls, FortiSwitch, FortiAP, and FortiManager.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. (experience using Auvik, PRTG, or similar monitoring tools).
• Implement and maintain network security measures using Fortinet solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and VPNs.
• Perform regular network maintenance, updates, and upgrades to ensure the latest security patches and features are applied.
• Collaborate with other IT team members to support and integrate network solutions with other systems and applications.
• Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
• Conduct regular network performance assessments and capacity planning to support business growth.
• Provide technical support and training to end-users and other IT staff as needed.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in network administration, with a focus on Fortinet solutions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in network administration or a similar role, with at least 4 years of experience working with Fortinet products.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and firewall configurations.
• Proficiency in configuring and managing Fortinet devices, including FortiGate firewalls, FortiSwitch, FortiAP, and FortiManager.
• Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., FortiManager, Auvik, PRTG).
• Solid understanding of network security principles and best practices.
• Experience with cloud networking (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Fortinet NSE4, NSE5, NSE6) are highly desirable.
