Utilize network engineering experience and knowledge of network architecture design, development, and testing methodologies to deploy, maintain, integrate, and test the network and computing infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, and servers. Perform system and network administration tasks including managing user accounts, data backup, networking, security, storage management, software license management, disaster recovery, etc. Configure and troubleshoot Storage Area Networks (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) environments. Configure and maintain Transmission Control Protocol (TCP)/Internet Protocol (IP) routing/switching, firewalls, load balancing, security systems, intrusion detection, and IP telephony solutions. Oversee connectivity to the Company’s Internet Service Provider (ISP). Install new and/or rebuild existing network hardware, peripherals, services, and settings in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements. Configure, manage, and troubleshoot current and emerging wireless network technology. Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot backup software. Analyze and resolve problems associated with network hardware/software. Address complex issues identified through service desk calls, texts, and/or emails by performing on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of connection issues. Recommend and implement corrective hardware/software solutions for all locations. Support the development and implementation of new computer projects and new hardware installations. Construct, install, and test customized configurations based on various platforms and operating systems. Research, evaluate, and recommend network hardware/software products. Assist in development of long-term strategies and capacity planning. Provide guidance to junior members of the team on complex issues and train end users in use of equipment and software. Create and maintain deployment and support documentation. Accurately document instances of hardware failure, repair, installation, and removal. Interact on a regular basis with internal departments and remote facilities on a daily basis. Interact with customers and vendors as needed. Work closely with the cyber security team to develop a complete network security solution.
To qualify for this role, candidates must have at least three years of network administration experience. An Associate Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience is required.
Preferred candidates will have five years of network administration experience and previous experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Familiarity with wireless technologies (e.g., LAN, WAN) and experience with scripting languages focused on network automation, such as Java, .NET, PHP, Ruby, BASH, Perl, Python, and PowerShell, is highly desirable. Previous experience using Jira or other Service Management software, as well as creating detailed reports, diagrams, system documentation, white papers, and solution briefs, is also preferred. Additionally, experience implementing Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) is beneficial.
