Job Description
We're seeking a .NET Developer to be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of computer software programs, applications, and databases. The work performed by the .NET Developer will support the American Proficiency Institute (API), one of the largest providers of proficiency testing (PT) in the U.S. API provides PT for over 20,000 clinical laboratories and is well-known for the quality of their service and customer interface applications. LGC Proficiency Testing is part of the LGC Clinical Diagnostics Division, which develops and manufactures a comprehensive portfolio of quality solutions and component materials for the extended life sciences industry.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain software programs in support of the needs of the API proficiency programs and LGC PT’s role as a service provider to API.
- Communicate with stakeholders to learn and document requirements to create technical specifications.
- Respond to support tickets from stakeholders according to company procedures. Debug programs when problems arise; work with users and other programmers to troubleshoot.
- Maintain proficiency in the various programming languages used within the company. Use the appropriate
- development tools and follow established programming techniques.
Qualifications
Education
- Degree in Computer Science or related field
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Traits
- .NET technologies and languages: ASP.NET, MVC, C#, VB.NET
- Experience with Visual Studio, source control (Git),
- HTML, JavaScript, CSS
- Microsoft SQL Server, databases, tables, stored procedures, etc.
- Considerable knowledge of database programs and applications
