Work Location: Hybrid/Washington, DC.
We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented cybersecurity professional to support our Department of State client. The candidate will support FISMA compliance.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement a vulnerability scanning strategy using Nessus, prioritizing software development assets.
- Configure, maintain, and optimize Nessus instances for software-centric security assessments.
- Design custom Nessus scan templates and policies aligned with software development risks.
- Analyze scan results in tandem with Government leadership to, identify critical vulnerabilities, and develop prioritized remediation plans.
- Develop detailed documentation, knowledge bases, and training materials for Nessus usage.
- Generate FISMA-compliant vulnerability reports for government stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of in-depth Nessus administration, configuration, and optimization experience.
- Deep understanding of software vulnerabilities, threat vectors, and scanning techniques.
- Familiarity with FISMA standards and their integration with vulnerability management processes.
- Experience interpreting and customizing Nessus scan results.
- Proven ability to automate Nessus tasks and reporting using scripting (Python, Bash, etc.).
- Experience with secure coding principles and software development lifecycles.
- Familiarity with cloud-based Nessus deployments.
Desired Qualifications:
- One or more Nessus-related certifications (or equivalent vendor-specific).
Clearance Requirement: Active Secret clearance.
