Have you got experience in sales or negotiations and want a new challenge? Do you have experience within the Property sector, negotiating rent reviews, renewals, and dilapidations?

If you have a passion for providing excellent levels of client and customer service, established high levels of Administration and the ability to multitask, in a rapidly changing environment you will excel in this role.

Mears Housing Management is going through an exciting period of growth, and we are seeking to appoint an additional Negotiator to join our Team in Basingstoke. We are looking for a candidate that has a passion to deliver excellent customer service, through being the first point of contact for our Letting Agents & Landlords.

About the Role:

This role is responsible for negotiating commercially advantageous terms with Landlords and Lettings Agents at the point of renewing tenancies or agreeing dilapidation costs, reducing the company’s costs and managing disputes effectively and in line with industry standards.

  • Reporting directly to the Team Leader, and will be first point of contact for Landlords and Agents
  • You will be a natural networker with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with landlords, letting agents and colleagues.
  • Managing the end-to-end renewal process, proactively negotiating to achieve commercially advantageous terms. Conducting market research and analysis to make informed decisions.
  • Following Dilapidation claims, you will be conducting investigations using your analytical skills, whilst collaborating with internal teams to gather necessary information. Reducing the company’s costs and managing disputes effectively and in line with industry standards (eg. ARLA, IRC, IPRHP)
  • Undertake ad hoc projects and provide support and cover for colleagues and teams within Mears Housing Management 

Role Criteria:

  • Confident communicator, with strong written and verbal skills. Always delivering excellent customer service.
  • Previous experience within customer service on the phones, building working relationships with people
  • Negotiation skills
  • High level of accuracy, data entry and record keeping.
  • Great Investigational skills
  • Organised
  • IT Literate; utilising a variety of software packages including Microsoft Office
  • Educated to GCSE standard preferable a pass grade in Math's
