Job Description

The Natural Resources Business Manager: Mozambique (Minerals, Oil Gas Chemicals and AGRI Trade & Logistics) is responsible to plan, organize, lead and control the operation and functions of the Mozambique Natural Resources Operations. To meet business objectives to create profitable and sustainable growth and ensure compliance with the Company policies and business guidelines.

Qualifications

Degree/Diploma Business Management, Marketing, Chemistry, Agronomy, Geology and

Mining, Port Management or other related qualification.

Experience

10 years’ experience in Natural Resources top Management and operations (Minerals, Oil Gas and Chemical, AGRI) business Management.

Exposure in laboratory management and inspections field services.

Good working knowledge of drafting of business plans with operational and financial implications.

Excellent public relations, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Experience in project design and business plans.

Experience in team leading, partnership and change management.

Solid exposure in ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and 17025 Standards.

Proficient in English and Portuguese.

Able to coordinate and motivate the team towards a common goal.

Technical knowledge and experience in related fields and in using efficient management methods and tools.

Ability to present studies in a compelling manner to local authorities.

Able to work independently and to coordinate several activities simultaneously.

Business and profit minded with related technical know-how. Competitive and profit-driven re-invents competitive advantage.

Able to interact with global, regional, and local clients and stakeholders.

Practical computer knowledge from the user's point of view of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,

CRM System programs (is an advantage).

 

Responsabilities

To plan, organize, lead and control the Natural Resources Operations in Mozambique.

Manage and monitor operational performance of the Natural Resources locations in Mozambique.

Responsible for revenue and expense control of the Natural Resources Operations, in line with operational budgets and the business strategies.

Set annual budget targets in collaboration with the Business Manager Natural Resources Southern Africa.

Responsible for pricing policies in conjunction with the Business Manager Natural Resources Southern Africa.

Ensure that adequate and appropriate manpower resources, equipment and tools are available for total operational efficiency.

Administration of contracts/jobs, routed through Geneva [international orders]; determination and review of rates and services conditions, and help in framing/concluding new contracts.

Effectively manage and continuously improve the quality management system, and the implementation of any certifications and accreditation systems within the business lines.

Control accounts receivable and DSO for the Natural Resources Operations in Mozambique.

Responsible for fleet management.

Development of technical capabilities, recruitment and training of personnel, in different skills/areas, as may be required at a given place. Building & maintaining a single, cohesive and motivated team.

Responsible for the effective implementation of SGS QHSE systems, as well as client specific safety standards (e.g. ISO 17025 & NOSA).

Ensure liaison and technical support to all present and potential clients.

Attend to all complaints and claim resolutionPerform inspections using Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) techniques (e.g., UT, RT, PT, MT).

Attend to technical and sales support as well as proposal co-ordination.

Keep abreast of new trends, current development, and relevant research.

Attend all meetings as per client requirements.

Conduct relevant monthly meetings with management and support staff.

Responsible for service level – Quality towards Business Managers and MD’s.

Ensure that all departments implement quality measures for ISO9001and ISO17020, and that accreditation and certification is obtained and maintained.

Actively promote cross selling among business lines.

Build the team and infuse team spirit to achieve the objectives collectively.

Adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management system.

Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by direct line manager.

Ensure that team members use correct templates and comply with ISO requirements (9001, 14001,45001)

Ensure that stop work authority is applied by you and your team when deemed necessary.

Ensure that the company’s Quality Assurance Program is implemented and maintained.

Maintain the Managing Director well and immediate informed on all aspects that have any direct or

Indirect impact on Environment, Health and Safety including the accidents, incidents, or any security concerns.

Participate in the completion of Management Action Report Card responsibilities, which measures.

Leading HSE indicators to proactively manage Health & Safety.

Ensure Quality in managing client complaints, data, personnel performance, turnaround and

equipment).

 Meeting external and internal Client Satisfaction from a service, quality and turnaround perspective.

Skills Required
