Job Summary

As a Natural Gas Scheduler within ConocoPhillips’ North America Gas and Power (NAGP) team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliable and efficient flow of natural gas across the U.S. pipeline network. This position is at the heart of our commercial operations, supporting one of the top natural gas marketing organizations in North America. You’ll collaborate with traders, operations teams, and external partners to optimize transportation, manage imbalances, and maintain seamless scheduling. Position Overview

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Coordinate and schedule natural gas purchases and sales across multiple pipeline systems to ensure timely, penalty-free flow

  • Integrate supply, market, and service contract data to optimize nominations and transportation strategies

  • Monitor pipeline operational updates via electronic bulletin boards and communicate critical information to stakeholders

  • Collaborate with traders, operations, third-party customers, and pipeline representatives to resolve issues and maintain operational reliability

  • Reconcile pipeline activity and statements with internal systems; support accounting teams with flow data and settlement processes

  • Manage pipeline imbalances and optimize capacity utilization.

  • Participate in rotational on-call coverage, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Basic/Required:

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Mathematics, Engineering, Science, other related field, or foreign equivalent

  • 1 or more years of experience in the oil and gas industry

  • 1 or more years of experience in a role requiring advanced critical thinking skills

  • Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to travel overnight 10% of the time on a yearly basis

  • Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to be on call 24/7, work after hours, evenings, weekends and holidays on a rotational basis

Preferred:

  • 3 or more years of experience in the oil and gas industry

  • 1 or more years of direct experience in natural gas scheduling or related operations

  • Advanced level of knowledge of U.S. natural gas grid, flow dynamics, and transportation segmentation

  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Excel (including macros)

  • Intermediate level of proficiency with TriplePoint or similar systems

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to prioritize multiple assignments under tight deadlines

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with a focus on collaboration and teamwork

  • Takes ownership of actions and commitments, ensuring ethical and timely decisions

  • Builds positive relationships based on trust and seeks collaboration across organizational boundaries to achieve goals

  • Builds effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions that are safe and ethical
