DDM Studios is Dotdash Meredith’s award-winning native advertising and content studio. We combine Dotdash Meredith’s unparalleled data with our storytelling expertise to help connect brands with our passionate and intent-driven consumers, at scale across a variety of formats. Our team of editors, producers, designers, developers and talent managers excel at producing insight-driven content of the highest quality that inspires, educates, and, most important for our brand partners, drives action.

The Native Editor, DDM Studios will join an agile and fast-paced team that creates branded content for a wide range of advertisers across the Dotdash Meredith portfolio. The ideal candidate is comfortable conceptualizing, writing, editing, and assigning content that lives in digital, social, and print environments. This person should also be able to confidently manage multiple deadlines at once and seamlessly collaborate with sales and marketing teams, art directors, designers, and freelance writers. This role will ladder up to the Associate Director, Native Edit at DDM Studios. 

Hybrid 3x a week - NYC, NY

In-Office Expectations: This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.

Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results

70%

  • Write copy and/or act as copy lead for native content campaigns across digital, social, and print
  • Source freelance writers with diverse expertise, when necessary, and manage those relationships 
    • Ensure client objectives are being met and feedback is being addressed properly
    • Ensure copy is respective of Dotdash Meredith brand guidelines and creatively sound, including meeting our editorial quality standards 
  • Partner with Producers and/or Project Managers to ensure internal teams and hired freelancers are meeting all deadlines
  • Collaborate with Art Directors and Designers on visual representation of written content 
  • As necessary, speak with clients in presentations and on calls regarding concepts and drafts

  • Partner with Associate Director, Native Edit and Producers and/or Project Managers to respond to an incoming flow of new business opportunities
    • Participate in brainstorms with internal DDM Studios, marketing, sales, and editorial stakeholders
    • Write content thought-starters and/or concepts for marketing proposals 
    • As necessary, pitch ideas to clients

  • Cultivate close relationships with the editorial staff of Dotdash Meredith brands
  • Maintain and build a database of freelance writers, editors, and content creators with an emphasis on diversity
  • All other duties as assigned

III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, or marketing preferred, or equivalent work experience

Experience:

  • Minimum 2-3 years relevant experience as a writer and/or editor in an editorial or agency setting
  • Prior branded content experience is preferred

Pay Range

Salary: New York: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00

The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith’s total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives. In addition, Dotdash Meredith provides to employees (and their eligible family members) a variety of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, prescription drug coverage, unlimited paid time off (PTO), adoption or surrogate assistance, donation matching, tuition reimbursement, basic life insurance, basic accidental death & dismemberment, supplemental life insurance, supplemental accident insurance, commuter benefits, short term and long term disability, health savings and flexible spending accounts, family care benefits, a generous 401K savings plan with a company match program, 10-12 paid holidays annually, and generous paid parental leave (birthing and non-birthing parents), all of which may vary depending on the specific nature of your employment with Dotdash Meredith and your work location.
