We are searching for a stand-out Temporary Traffic Management Technical Lead with the ‘X-factor’, someone who thrives in evolving environments and is driven to create great outcomes for our industry, our business, and our people.
As the National Technical Lead, you’ll steer the design and delivery of best-practice traffic management and risk assessment processes. You’ll be the trusted advisor internally and externally, working with a wide range of stakeholders from clients and regulatory bodies to staff, suppliers, and subject matter experts.
Your discipline and organisation will ensure our business consistently achieves technical excellence, while your collaborative style will inspire others to contribute and embrace change.
The location is open—we’re keen to hear from outstanding candidates based in Auckland, Wellington, or Christchurch however other locations will be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and refine risk-based Traffic Management processes nationwide, promoting safety, integration, and effectiveness.
Establish national centres of excellence for Traffic Management Planning, including efficient templates, process controls, document management, and ongoing review.
Build and maintain panels of Subject Matter Experts across traffic engineering, planning, equipment, and legislative areas.
Champion technical mentoring and capability-building within our workforce.
Integrate and improve training resources by collaborating with instructional designers.
Spearhead knowledge-sharing groups and support ongoing learning for team members.
Represent Fulton Hogan on industry groups, contributing to national improvements and raising our profile as trusted advisors.
Project manage or contribute to Traffic Management innovation and improvement initiatives.
Serve as a go-to for expert advice, supporting teams across New Zealand.

High digital literacy (particularly Microsoft Excel and relevant software).
Thrive under pressure and manage ambiguity with calm confidence.
