Job Summary
The National Sales VP will promote the sale of annuity products (traditional fixed, FIAs and Immediate Annuities) through leading and management of group of Regional Directors. This position will work with many long-established agent relationships. This position is responsible for achieving sales targets established by the company. In addition, this position will foster production through independent insurance agents and to continually recruit and develop new agent relationships. Primary tactics include wholesaling activities and training agents on products, sales ideas, and procedures through seminars and meetings, recruiting new accounts, negotiating appropriate contract levels, developing sales and marketing plans, and developing recommendations for company “investment” in distribution opportunities. In addition, it is expected that you spend time each quarter calling on Fidelity & Guaranty Life’s best agents. !!This position will help direct the activities of home office sales support to achieve stated production goals and sales objectives. This position reports to the SVP, Annuity Distribution.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for management of Regional Directors by managing performance, providing coaching, development, feedback and holding employees accountable to specific sales goals.
- Responsible for coordinating the development of marketing plans for each Regional Director territory.
- Overseeing wholesaling effectiveness and of Regional Directors.
- Develop metrics to measure and manage the activity and results of the Regional Directors.
- Assist in the coordination of primary activities of the internal Premier Service Team
- Generate monthly reports and deliver ad hoc projects to the SVP
- Assist in maintaining and developing our annuity competitive intelligence
- Represent annuity sales on various committees or project teams
- Will take active role in partnering with operations and legal to assure positive field service experience.
- Maintain successful business relationships with National Account VPs, National Account Managers and internal stakeholders through frequent communication.
- Encourage, support, and participate in meetings and seminars that promote Fidelity & Guaranty Life.
- Develop knowledge of specific agent requirements as they relate to Home Office service capabilities and procedures.
- Coordinate activity management with Director Internal Sales and provide direction to the Senior Internal Wholesaler, focusing on new account implementation and training.
- Coordinate action plans to assure complete coverage of agents, which represent high potential to the Company.
- Identify opportunities for, and coordinate the development of, consistent high-quality presentations, and other promotional pieces in support of marketing efforts.
- Research, monitor and track competitors’ products and pricing and the impact they have on Fidelity & Guaranty competitive positioning.
- Contribute suggestions and competitive intelligence to the SVP, Annuity Distribution in design, positioning and opportunity.
- Prepare management reports as requested, to include activity reports and an extensive semi-annual review of Key Accounts.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This role has people leadership responsibilities, including managing performance, developing talent, and supporting engagement and team effectiveness.

Minimum Qualifications
Education Level
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or Marketing or equivalent experience
Years of Experience
- 10+ year of relevant experience of key account management experience
License/Certification
- Industry recognized designation preferred such as CLU, ChFC, CFP, or Security License.

- This position primarily involves sedentary work, requiring long periods of sitting, regular use of a computer, and occasional standing or walking, with reasonable accommodations available.
