The National Sales Manager will serve as the custodian of our client's business across Ghana, ensuring the achievement of sales and collection targets, product availability, effective Route-to-Market (RTM) execution, and team leadership. This role requires strategic oversight of sales operations across multiple channels while fostering growth for assigned principal products.

Key Responsibilities
Sales & Revenue Growth
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets (both volume and value) as set by the company.

  • Ensure consistent collection of payments from customers to meet monthly collection goals.

  • Drive growth and numeric expansion through the onboarding of new outlets and customers.

Market Penetration & Coverage
  • Ensure product availability in all relevant outlets and sales channels (including traditional trade and modern trade) across the country.

  • Supervise the deployment and maintenance of Point-of-Purchase (POP) materials in alignment with principal company standards.

  • Manage stock levels to minimize overstocking or stock-outs across territories.

Team & Operations Management
  • Oversee and develop a robust secondary sales force and nationwide distribution network.

  • Provide leadership and direction to internal sales teams and liaise effectively with representatives from the principal company.

  • Monitor and manage the execution of all trade programs and promotional activities.

  • Drive performance management and coaching of sales personnel to optimize productivity.

Strategy & Reporting
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans aligned with company objectives.

  • Monitor competitor activities and deliver timely market insights to the Business Head.

  • Prepare and submit accurate reports on sales performance, collections, promotional activities, and market developments.

Debt Management
  • Ensure effective credit control and manage customer debts across all channels to remain within acceptable risk limits.



RequirementsTechnical and Functional Skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong negotiation and persuasion skills

  • Results-driven with the ability to work under pressure

  • Solid mathematical and analytical ability

  • Competency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills

Knowledge Areas
  • Comprehensive understanding of Ghana’s consumer goods market and retail channel structures

  • In-depth knowledge of sales principles and channel management

  • Sound financial literacy and ability to interpret financial data

  • Awareness of market trends and competitor activities

Qualifications & Experience
  • A Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field

  • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in a similar sales leadership role, preferably in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG-Non-food) sector

  • Experience in team management and working with distribution networks

  • Fresh graduates with high leadership potential and relevant exposure may also be considered.
