Scope of the Role
The National Sales Director operates as a senior individual contributor with enterprise-level impact, responsible for driving national revenue growth through direct sales execution, strategic account leadership, and high-value business development. This role holds broad ownership over a national portfolio and is accountable for delivering against aggressive revenue targets by managing complex sales cycles and securing large-scale, strategic partnerships.
Functioning with a high degree of autonomy, the National Sales Director is expected to translate organizational sales strategy into actionable territory plans, while also contributing to the refinement of broader go-to-market approaches through deep market insight and customer engagement. This role serves as a subject matter expert within the sales function, influencing direction through data-driven recommendations, competitive intelligence, and firsthand customer feedback.
The position is responsible for owning and expanding relationships with key clients, executive stakeholders, and strategic partners across multiple markets. This includes leading sophisticated sales engagements, structuring and negotiating complex agreements, and identifying opportunities to grow long-term account value. The National Sales Director is expected to operate at a consultative level, aligning solutions to client business needs while positioning the organization as a trusted partner.
While this role does not include direct people management, it carries significant influence across cross-functional teams. The National Sales Director collaborates closely with marketing, product, finance, and operations to ensure alignment on sales initiatives, optimize the customer experience, and drive successful execution of national sales priorities. This role may also provide informal leadership through mentorship, knowledge sharing, and guidance on best practices across the sales organization.
In addition, the National Sales Director maintains full ownership of pipeline health, forecasting accuracy, and performance tracking. This includes leveraging CRM systems and analytics tools to monitor progress against targets, identify risks and opportunities, and adjust strategies as needed to ensure consistent attainment of revenue goals.
Given the national scope and strategic nature of the role, the National Sales Director is expected to stay highly attuned to industry trends, competitive dynamics, and evolving customer needs, using this insight to proactively identify growth opportunities and sustain a strong market position.

Sales Execution & Account Management
Execute national sales strategies aligned with company goals.
Manage a portfolio of key accounts and develop strong client relationships.

Education, Knowledge, and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field required
Master's degree preferred
Proven experience minimum 7+ years in sales leadership roles, preferably in a similar industry or market.
