The Role

Inside the Role

As a National Account Regional Sales Manager for Penske, you will interact daily with Penske field sales staff in the assigned AOR, as well as the Applications team from Penske Corporate Headquarters in Reading, Pennsylvania. You will provide timely and accurate responses to requests for vehicle specifications quote requests, and coordinate with Penske to provide concierge-level service and support to DTNA’s single largest customer. You will be a trusted DTNA expert to these colleagues and quickly navigate the organization to provide timely answers to questions, as well as solutions to problems as they arise.

Position offers a starting salary range of $117,000.00 - $150,000.00 USD 

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience

What you Drive at DTNA

  • Interact daily with Penske Field Sales Staff in the assigned AOR as well as Penske Corporate Headquarters, in Reading, PA, on all levels of customer management.
  • Develop individual options or full vehicle specification quotes to meet customer requests and application requirements.
  • Manage and/or conduct sales presentations to Penske Sales Staff and its customers.
  • Participate in special product and industry events between Penske and DTNA.
  • Conduct and present paper and physical pilot reviews with Penske personnel and Penske customers upon request from Penske Vehicle Supply group.
  • Create and distribute specifications for these paper and physical pilots as requested and required.
  • Upon completion of pilot, provide all agreed upon changes to Penske Vehicle Supply Specialist.
  • Review new truck orders to ensure accuracy.
  • Act as liaison with Customer Application Engineering (CAE) and advise to ensure trucks are properly spec’d according to application.
  • Provide technical sales, service, warranty, or business management expertise to resolve difficult situations or conditions.
  • Coordinate with field service or internally to correct miss-ordered or miss-built trucks.
  • Coordinate with DTNA corporate to ensure customer needs are met, including field service organization, scheduling, sales coordination, pricing, sales engineering, used trucks, and vehicle distribution.
  • Advise Penske on new technologies that may enhance their market position or profitability.
  • Develop, implement, and conduct training sessions for Penske Field staff dealing with application and spec’ing of Freightliner and Western Star trucks.
  • Perform new product training to Penske customers when needed.
  • Lead continuous improvement and other special projects for Penske National Account Sales team in collaboration with Engineering, Service, CAE, and other groups to improve the partnership with DTNA’s premier customer
  • Travel as necessary to meet Penske Field and customer needs for vehicle demonstrations, presentations, driver trainings, etc.
  • Travel to Penske Corporate Headquarters in Reading, PA on a quarterly basis to provide in-person support to Penske Applications team and other leadership
  • Work as a team with other DTNA Penske Fleet Sales Managers to provide concierge service to Penske

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college/university and 5-7 years experience, OR 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree required
  • IMS mainframe experience
  • Strong commercial vehicle knowledge required, with a high degree of technical expertise
  • Truck specification creation experience
  • Customer facing experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to travel on a monthly/ quarterly basis domestically
  • An attached resume is required

Exceptional Candidates Might Have 

  • Background in Customer Application Engineering, or Engineering, highly preferred
  • FOCUS, Tableau, Alteryx, SQL, or other database expertise
