We are searching for a qualified National Account Manager to join our high functioning team! As a global organisation and working across the country but position will be based in Mascot, Sydney.
About the Role
As National Account Manager you will be responsible for building strong relationships, driving revenue growth, and ensuring Avis Budget Group remains the preferred partner for our strategic national customers. You will manage a defined portfolio of national and enterprise accounts and will be accountable for commercial performance, customer engagement, contract delivery, and retention across these accounts.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure operational excellence, support the delivery of contracted service levels, negotiate renewals, identify upsell opportunities, and partner with customers on mutually beneficial initiatives. To be successful in this position you will need strong commercial acumen, account planning, and a focus on customer-led outcomes.
Key duties and responsibilities:
Manage a portfolio of National & Enterprise Accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
Develop strategic account plans aligned to customer needs and ABG objectives.
Build strong, trusted relationships with decision-makers and key stakeholders within each customer account.
Coordinate and lead regular business reviews with customers.
Monitor and deliver on contracted service levels and commercial commitments.
Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts and collaborate with internal teams to execute strategies.
Manage pricing, tender responses, and contract negotiations in line with ABG frameworks.
Analyse account performance, revenue, and profitability to inform strategic decisions.
Work with Finance to ensure accurate forecasting and reporting.
Ensure accounts operate within agreed commercial parameters.
Partner with Operations, Fleet, IT, and Customer Experience teams to support service delivery.
Resolve customer issues through effective cross-functional collaboration.
Support implementation of customer initiatives, trials, and process improvements.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities where capacity permits.
Support development of proposals and commercial submissions for prospective customers.
Maintain accurate CRM records and customer documentation.
Ensure compliance with all ABG policies, procedures, and contractual requirements.
Prepare and deliver regular internal performance reports.
What we’re looking for
Proven B2B account management experience with a track record of retaining and growing customer revenue
Experience managing national or multi-state customer portfolios will be viewed as highly beneficial
Experience negotiating commercial contracts and tenders (working knowledge of tender and procurement processes will be advantageous)
Strong negotiation and contract management experience.
Commercial and financial acumen across pricing, margin and forecasting
Account planning and CRM discipline
Familiarity with fleet or mobility products and markets (highly beneficial)
Beside the above we are looking for someone who is a clear communicator and confident negotiator who builds trusted relationships with senior stakeholders. You will be commercially minded with sound judgement who is results-driven and takes accountability.
