We are currently seeking a Remote MySQL SQL Developer, who you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining efficient and scalable MySQL databases. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in writing complex SQL queries, optimizing database performance, and ensuring data integrity. The role involves collaborating with software developers, database administrators, and other IT professionals to support the organization's data-driven applications

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, develop, and maintain MySQL databases and SQL scripts.
- Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and views to support various application requirements.
- Optimize database performance, including query optimization, indexing strategies, and resource management.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and availability through proper design and maintenance of database systems.
- Collaborate with software development teams to integrate databases with applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, including performance bottlenecks, data inconsistencies, and security vulnerabilities.
- Conduct database tuning and optimization, including analyzing and improving database schemas, queries, and indexes.
- Assist in database migration, backup, and recovery processes.
- Document database designs, configurations, and procedures.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in MySQL and SQL technologies

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in MySQL database development and SQL programming.
- Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
- Strong understanding of database design principles, normalization, and data modeling.
- Experience with MySQL performance tuning and optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with data migration, backup, and recovery strategies.
- Experience with database management tools such as MySQL Workbench.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Experience:
- Knowledge of database replication, clustering, and high availability configurations.
- Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions (Amazon RDS).
- Experience with ETL processes and data warehousing concepts.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash.
