The Role
Fidelity is looking to hire a Municipal Bond Trader to join its Fixed Income Division. The trader will join our municipal bond trading team. The position requires knowledge of fixed income investing and trading, analytical skills, an entrepreneurial approach to solving problems, a commitment to collaboration, and effective communication skills. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a municipal bond trading team that touches multiple vehicles and strategies (Mutual Funds, ETFs, SMAs, Systematic) The role will require you to apply your market, technical and investment skills to evolve our trading practices and ensure efficient implementation of investment decisions.
The Value You Deliver
Collect, organize, and disseminate market and trading information to the investment team
Work closely with portfolio managers, analysts, and fellow traders construct relative value trade ideas
Maintain strong dealer relationships (sales, trading, and syndicate). Negotiate and execute trades on behalf of our portfolios, achieving best execution for clients
Leverage technical skills to find ways to scale the investment process and execution capabilities in the pursuit of contributing to alpha generation
Keep pace with the evolving market structure to refine our electronic trading approach, strategy, and tactics
Actively work alongside fellow traders, quantitative analysts, and developers in advancing our systematic trading strategies and mechanics
Liaise with Technology, Compliance, Legal, Operations and other internal Fidelity partners to mitigate operational risk and drive process efficiency
Help define the business requirements for enterprise technology applications to be used by the trading team
The Experience and Skills You Bring
Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree a plus
Demonstrated experience in fixed income investing/trading
Entrepreneurial spirit and enthusiasm for solving complex problems
Ability to work in team environment and be an adaptable self-starter
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
