Plessey are seeking a practical and reliable Multi-Skilled Tradesperson to join our Construction & Maintenance Team. This role will support refurbishment projects and carry out day-to-day maintenance works across our facilities. The ideal candidate will have a broad range of trade skills, with strong experience in painting and decorating, and a flexible, hands-on approach to work.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out a wide range of general maintenance and refurbishment tasks across site.
- Undertake painting and decorating works, including preparation, finishing, and snagging.
- Support basic carpentry, plumbing, and building maintenance tasks where required.
- Assist skilled trades during refurbishment and improvement projects.
- Carry out repairs, replacements, and minor installations as needed.
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
- Report defects, materials required and completed works to line management.
- Follow all health & safety procedures and site rules.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Relevant qualifications or certifications across multiple trade disciplines.
- General maintenance experience within facilities, industrial, commercial, or building environments.
- Competent in carrying out multi-trade tasks including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, building, and decorating works.
- Skilled in using hand and power tools with a strong understanding of technical drawings.
- Strong knowledge of health & safety requirements, including safe isolation, LOTO, permit-to-work systems, and dynamic risk assessments.
- Familiar with cleanroom protocols within semiconductor or high-tech environments.
- Able to respond to maintenance calls and resolve issues quickly and safely by replacing parts, fittings, and components as required.
- Proactive in identifying improvements and recommending upgrades to reduce downtime.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on mindset.
- Able to manage a varied workload, working independently or as part of a team.
- Effective communicator who can coordinate work around production schedules.
- Reliable, punctual, professional, and customer-focused with a methodical, detail-oriented approach.
