PURPOSE

The Multimedia Specialist serves as a visual storyteller for Baker Group, using videography, video editing, photography, interviews, and creative direction to showcase our people, projects, services, and culture.

This role partners with subject matter experts, project teams, field personnel, and business unit leaders to identify and develop compelling stories. The Multimedia Specialist will produce content ranging from short-form social media videos to long-form project features, recruitment videos, customer stories, internal communications, and other marketing assets.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can independently identify story opportunities, develop concepts and storyboards, determine what needs to be captured, and lead the creative direction from idea through final production. This individual should be comfortable working with technical subject matter experts and field professionals, asking thoughtful questions, and translating complex work into engaging visual stories.

The Multimedia Specialist will have creative freedom to tell Baker Group’s story while following the company’s brand, photography, videography, and motion graphics guidelines. This position requires regular travel to jobsites, fabrication facilities, and company locations.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Multimedia Storytelling & Creative Direction

  • Partner with business unit preconstruction managers and subject matter experts to develop multimedia content that communicates Baker Group’s service offerings, expertise, and value proposition.
  • Identify and pursue story opportunities across the organization.
  • Develop creative concepts, story angles, interview questions, shot lists, and storyboards.
  • Lead creative direction and determine the people, locations, visuals, interviews, and supporting footage needed to tell each story.
  • Plan, capture, edit, and deliver short-form and long-form video content.
  • Translate technical concepts into clear, engaging, and audience-focused visual stories.
  • Develop content that supports marketing campaigns, business development initiatives, recruiting efforts, internal communications, and brand awareness objectives.
  • Ensure multimedia content aligns with Baker Group’s brand voice, visual identity, photography guidelines, and motion graphics standards.


Field Content Creation

  • Regularly visit jobsites, fabrication facilities, and company locations to capture photography, video, interviews, and project updates.
  • Build relationships with project managers, foremen, field leaders, and craft professionals to uncover compelling stories.
  • Document project milestones, innovations, safety achievements, customer successes, and employee accomplishments.
  • Capture interviews, b-roll, process footage, aerial or elevated perspectives when appropriate, and other visual assets.
  • Coordinate with project teams to understand site conditions, safety requirements, schedules, and appropriate times for filming.
  • Organize and maintain digital content libraries of photos, videos, interviews, graphics, and project assets.


Video Production & Editing

  • Capture high-quality video and audio in office, field, jobsite, and industrial environments.
  • Operate cameras, audio equipment, lighting, stabilizers, drones, and other production tools as appropriate.
  • Edit video content for social media, websites, presentations, recruiting, internal communications, advertising, and other marketing applications.
  • Create videos in a variety of lengths, formats, aspect ratios, and styles for different audiences and platforms.
  • Incorporate music, voiceover, interviews, b-roll, captions, graphics, animation, transitions, and motion graphics.
  • Apply color correction, sound mixing, basic audio cleanup, and other post-production techniques.
  • Manage video projects from concept and pre-production through filming, editing, review, revisions, and final delivery.
  • Maintain organized project files and establish efficient workflows for storing, editing, archiving, and repurposing content.


Photography & Digital Content

  • Capture professional photography for websites, social media, proposals, case studies, recruiting materials, internal communications, and other marketing needs.
  • Select, edit, organize, and prepare photographs for use across digital and print channels.
  • Develop photo and video content tailored for multiple digital platforms.
  • In partnership with the digital marketing coordinator, create social media content that highlights Baker Group’s projects, people, culture, and capabilities.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to execute content strategies that increase engagement and brand visibility.
  • Monitor industry trends and identify opportunities for timely, relevant multimedia content.


Case Studies & Thought Leadership

  • Research, interview stakeholders, and produce project case studies that demonstrate Baker Group’s expertise and project success.
  • Develop video-based customer success stories, project spotlights, employee features, and thought leadership content.
  • Support written content development by providing interviews, photography, video, project details, and supporting assets.
  • Ensure content aligns with Baker Group’s brand voice and messaging standards.

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Film or Video Production, Communications and Media Studies, Animation and Video Graphics, Digital Media, Marketing, Journalism, or another related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of professional experience in videography, video production, video editing, multimedia communications, content creation, or a related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience producing both short-form and long-form video content.
  • Proficiency operating digital cameras and related video, audio, lighting, and production equipment.
  • Experience developing storyboards, shot lists, interview concepts, and creative treatments.
  • Experience with video editing, photography, motion graphics, and digital content production.
  • A portfolio or examples of work demonstrating videography, video editing, photography, and storytelling ability required.
  • Construction, engineering, industrial, manufacturing, or technical industry experience is a plus but not required.

  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom, or related tools.
  • Familiarity with motion graphics, captions, color correction, audio editing, and video optimization for digital platforms.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and content management tools.
  • Willingness to spend significant time at active jobsites, fabrication facilities, and other field environments.
  • Ability to work in changing conditions and adapt to unpredictable field schedules, lighting, weather, noise, and access limitations.
  • Ability to safely carry, set up, and operate multimedia equipment in office and field environments.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL ADAPTABILITY

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Will visit jobsites, fabrication facilities, and company locations, requiring periods of standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, kneeling, crouching, and working on uneven surfaces.
  • May work in environments with noise, dust, vibration, changing temperatures, inclement weather, elevated work areas, and active construction activities.
  • Must follow all site-specific safety requirements and use required personal protective equipment.
  • Must be able to lift and carry multimedia equipment and accessories weighing approximately 10-20 pounds occasionally.
