What you will do
- Take care about typical MRO (maintenance, repair, operations) relevant needs e.g. mechanical services, scaffolding, cleaning, insulation, crane work, pipe material, gaskets, spare parts, plant equipment etc.
- Be responsible for independent coordination with the maintenance team
- Ensure strong commercial outcomes: apply sourcing best practices, run competitive events (RFx), challenge specifications, optimize total cost.
- Guide and influence stakeholders in driving sourcing projects
- Create, negotiate and manage contracts
- Identify proactively opportunities to reduce spend
- Analyze and evaluate supplier's performance/ escalations, manage & optimize supply base
- Use Ariba platform to enhance sourcing event execution
- Ensure efficient, effective, compliant Source-to-Contract process implementation in your everyday work.
- Own operational performance: manage intake and pipeline, balance capacity vs. demand, shorten cycle times, and continuously improve SLA adherence, compliance, and stakeholder satisfaction
- Accelerate digital & automation adoption: strengthen use of sourcing e-tools, standMRO ardize templates, analytics, identify automation opportunities to improve speed and quality.
Who you are
- You have a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in (industrial) engineering, (technical) business administration or other relevant professional qualifications in the related area
- You have at least 3 years of work experience in MRO sourcing e.g. as a sourcing specialist related to materials and services in the chemical industry
- You are fluent in English and German and you have experience in working at German market, with German suppliers and German contracts
- experience of e-sourcing tools like SAP 4/Hana, Ariba and SBN is beneficial
- knowledge about legal requirements in German chemical industrial sector is beneficial
- You are proactive, service-oriented person with strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills
- You have a general technical understanding of typical industrial needs
- You show assertiveness against internal stakeholders and suppliers
- You have good collaboration and team-working skills, you have self-management skills and are not afraid to take initiative and challenge the status quo
- You are ready to occasionally travel for business
Skills Required
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in industrial engineering, technical business administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in MRO sourcing involving materials and services, preferably in the chemical industry
- Fluency in English and German
- Experience working with the German market, German suppliers, and German contracts

- Knowledge of legal requirements in the German chemical industrial sector
