About the role.
We're looking for an MRO Buyer to join our ANZ Procurement team on an 18-month contract.
This is a fast-paced, hands-on purchasing role supporting maintenance teams across our manufacturing sites. While you'll contribute to reporting and continuous improvement initiatives, the majority of your time will be spent managing day-to-day purchasing activities, sourcing quotes, creating purchase orders in SAP, and resolving supplier and purchasing-related issues.
Working closely with the Procurement Director, Senior MRO Buyer, site maintenance teams and suppliers, you'll play a critical role in ensuring parts, materials and services are available when needed to keep our operations running smoothly. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys structured, process-driven work, can manage competing priorities, and thrives in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same.
What you'll be doing.
- Manage the end-to-end purchasing process, including sourcing supplier quotes, raising purchase orders and maintaining purchasing records.
- Convert requisitions into purchase orders in SAP while ensuring accuracy and compliance with established processes.
- Support maintenance teams across Ballarat, Smithton and Timaru with their purchasing requirements.
- Liaise with suppliers to resolve pricing, delivery, invoice and order-related issues.
- Maintain supplier pricing and purchasing data within SAP.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding purchase orders to support business continuity.
- Prepare procurement reports, spend analysis and purchasing-related documentation.
- Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes and efficiencies while maintaining compliance with procurement procedures.
- Prioritise and manage a high volume of requests in a reactive operational environment.
What you'll need to be successful.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Buyer, Purchasing Officer, Procurement Officer or similar purchasing role.
- Strong SAP purchasing experience and confidence working within purchasing systems.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to process accuracy.
- Proven ability to work autonomously and make sound decisions within established guidelines.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Numerical, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience within manufacturing, maintenance, industrial or FMCG environments will be highly regarded.
- Coupa experience is advantageous but not essential.
About the team.
You'll join the ANZ Procurement team and work closely with the Senior MRO Buyer to support maintenance operations across our manufacturing sites. The team partners with stakeholders across multiple locations to ensure critical goods and services are sourced efficiently, helping our sites operate safely and effectively.
Reporting to the Procurement Director, this role offers the opportunity to work with a broad range of stakeholders while gaining exposure to purchasing, supplier management and continuous improvement activities within a global organisation.
