Caterpillar Logistics Inc seeks MPN Data Steward at its facility located at 500 N Morton Ave, Morton, Illinois 61550.

Develop, implement, and evolve the global MPN data strategy. Perform all necessary data related tasks including data design, data quality, metadata management, data governance, and data architecture. Implement and follow all data governance and quality standards for MPN data. Create documentation for resolving data discrepancy issues or for business requirements. Create and manage contact lists for all source and consuming systems to address MPN data discrepancy or data governance needs. Learn data steward tools utilized in MPN systems for analyzing data and making necessary changes for quality outcomes including rule management in cases where master data decision tools are used to finalize a quality data result. Participate in requirements for technical implementations or enhancements to MPN data management systems. Define KPIs to track effectiveness of MPN data governance strategy. Monitor and act on any workflow requests for new, changed, or removal of MPN data. Participate in team or project meetings as requested for MPN data access, consultation, and consumption. Liaise with data creators, LIS, and GIS to support project planning, training, guidance on standards, and the efficient creation/maintenance of high-quality data. Schedule meetings and escalate questions or concerns appropriately. Maintain knowledge of functional technology of MPN data management systems as they change with upgrades and new releases. Contribute to policies, procedures, and standards as well as technical requirements. Understand Blue Yonder and o9 data for integration into and alignment with the MPN master data including GSK, GSP, GSOH, Blue Yonder, and EPSA master data. Define MPN data governance standards. Execute maturity assessments of MPN data quality on a defined frequency and identify missing or incorrect MPN data and data standards. Work at an enterprise level of interaction and provide data to multiple consuming systems where actions taken must be very well defined to not impact revenue generating business activities or manage data volumes at extremely high levels where the process and quality are more complex due to the nature of the volume or data. Closely interact with the business and provide MPN master data subject matter expert input to various project teams as it relates to master data management and governance. Create and maintain consistent reference data and master data definitions and will create the data management strategy and define continuous improvement goals of data quality, governance, and processes. Provide consultation on use of data from other groups with reports or applications or other accesses. Review and develop a plan to legacy reports to migrate to current data tools. Create leadership presentations and interact with leaders in setting direction for data management needs. Telecommuting: 50% Telecommuting Allowed. Travel: 25% Domestic Travel Required.

This position requires a master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field and Six (6) years of experience in the Data Management industry or related field. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Performing data design, data quality, metadata management, data governance, and data architecture; (2) Manufacturing Parts Node (MPN) Network, company products, services, product applications, dealer network, and their business model; (3) Performing impact evaluation on multiple other systems when MPN data changes; (4) Process management experience with incoming data feeds and direct experience working with requests and consuming users and applications to evaluate changes; and (5) Defining KPIs to track effectiveness and direct working experience with Query writing and other analytical tools, including specifically: Oracle, Python, SAS, QAD ERP, GSP, SAP HANA, EWM, TW Slot, Alteryx, or Snowflake.
