Key Responsibilities
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Watchkeeping & Machinery Monitoring: Perform safe engine room watchkeeping duties under the direct supervision of the assigned EOOW. Conduct thorough global machinery rounds as well as highly detailed checks specifically focused on the equipment assigned to their watch.
Routine Maintenance & Day-Work: Execute scheduled day-work, routine servicing and various maintenance jobs as instructed by the paired EOOW or the Staff Engineer during designated working hours outside of pure watchkeeping duties.
Targeted Housekeeping: Take direct ownership of the cleanliness, painting, and cosmetic maintenance of the specific machinery and deck plates assigned to their watch, ensuring the highest standards of housekeeping and a hazard-free environment.
Operational Assistance: Actively assist the engineering officers during critical operational procedures, including bunkering, sludge/wastewater transfers, and loadings when required. Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Comply strictly with all safety procedures, including Permit to Work (PTW) protocols, isolation procedures, and the correct use of PPE. Ensure personal compliance with work and rest hour regulations while fulfilling all required watch and service hours.

Not interfere with or misuse anything provided for health, safety, or welfare ·
Abide by environmental protection rules and regulations and actively participate in the reduction, reuse, and recycling schemes in place All employees shall participate actively in all HSEQ activities and promote safe practices as part of an integrated management approach.
