Key Responsibilities
Main responsibilities -
Third Officer (Navigation):
In addition to those normal duties as outlined in the V.Ships VMS, the Third Officer (Navigation) is responsible for:
· Being the Co-Navigator for the officer of the Watch as required by the Bridge Operations and Bridge Resource Management (BRM)
· Assisting in the management and training of deck crew
· Assisting with the running of the deck maintenance programs and deck crew
· Tank work and inspections
· Monitoring the Ballast Water Log
· Assisting with deck Inventory management and PMS maintenance
· Assisting with inspections and reporting of non-LSA lifting appliances, davits and cranes
· Assisting with the vessels crack register
· Assisting with the maintenance of Deck Department Chemical inventory list and the Deck Department Hazmat Familiarisation & training
· Maintaining the working area clean, safe, and handling tools and equipment with care
· Participating in emergency drills and responding to actual emergencies as per the Muster List
· Adhering to all safety regulations and using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during work activities
· Adhering to and complying with all company policies and procedures, manuals and directives
· Performing duties and tasks according to above but not limited to that.
Second Officer (Safety)
In addition to those normal duties as outlined in the V.Ships VMS, the Third Officer (Safety) is responsible for:
· Being the Co-Navigator for the officer of the Watch as required by the Bridge Operations
· Manual and Bridge Resource Management (BRM)
· Assisting in Crew Safety training
· Safety equipment maintenance and inspections as required by the PMS
· Assisting in lifeboat training and lowering
· Inventory and PMS maintenance related to safety
· Assisting with inspections and reporting observations /defects of LSA lifting appliances
· Maintaining the working area clean, safe, and handling tools and equipment with care
· Participating in emergency drills and responding to actual emergencies as per the Muster List
· Adhering to all safety regulations and using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during work activities
· Adhering to and complying with all company policies and procedures, manuals and directives
· Performing duties and tasks according to above but not limited to that.

· Attend passenger social events as directed by the Head of Department.
· Partake in inspections, trainings and meetings as directed by the Head of Department.

· Attending trainings and office visits arranged by V.Ships Leisure where possible
