Job Description:

The Monitoring Tools Engineer is hands on experience in implementation & administration of monitoring in the applications landscape. S/he identifies key business transactions in collaboration with the business and IT teams and implement monitoring to get pro-active alerts on system disruption and outages before it creates business impact. S/he ensures the new processes and design of the organization’s go forward Systems landscape meet the performance requirements defined by the business, achieves the business goals, and enhances our IT capability. 

 

Job specifics/responsibilities: 

  • Ensures the successful installation, integration, and deployment of application monitoring tools and solutions in various production and non-production environments. 
  • Installs application monitoring tools working with the infrastructure teams, and report application metrics with the goal of preventing problems and improving IT effectiveness. 
  • Analyses reported incidents and problems for the applications, assessing patterns, making recommendations, and implementing monitoring solutions. 
  • Prepares and maintains technical documentation to assist with operation, maintenance, and development of the monitoring. 
  • Creates and executes application and system test procedures after tools implementation. 
  • Identifies critical business transactions and implement tools to managing alert and response. 
  • Identifies opportunities for streamlining processes through automation. 
  • Works with the primary MS support team to provide industry leading service and support.
  • Leads implementation of tools and monitoring with Outsourcing providers. 
  • Manages and ensures security remediation implementation for all findings. 
  • Service maintenance employing ITIL principles. 
  • Leads problem Management and resolution. 
  • Provides Instrumentation for proactive diagnostic insight into health of applications. 
  • Creates systems for error handling, and logging. 
  • End-to-end ownership of managing the tools application and ensured the on-time updates & upgrade done. 

 

Key deliverables/accountabilities: 

  • End-to-end ownership of tools application administration, implementation & maintenance 

 

Education (degree) and professional experience required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology, computer Science or relevant equivalent professional experience

  • Fluent in written and verbal English 
  • SolarWinds Implementation & Administration 
  • OpsRamp Implementation & Administration
  • Nagios Implementation & Administration
  • Cross-Domain knowledge, Networking, Cloud, OS, Virtualization, Application, containers etc.
