- The Modeller-Editor is responsible for both
3D modelling of structural steel members and connections in Tekla, and creating and editing detailed shop, assembly and erection drawings used in steel processing, fabrication and site install. - This role assists in ensuring shop drawings, RFIs, documentation control, and drafting deliverables are issued in accordance with project timelines and contractual requirements.
- The position requires strong technical understanding of structural and architectural documentation, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to liaise between project managers, modellers, checkers and editors. Core objectives include:
- Study and interpret design drawings correctly. -Model steel members and connections in Tekla as per structural and architectural drawing intent.
- Produce, create and edit parts, assembly/shop drawings, erection drawings and marking plans.
- Ensure all drawings comply with client specifications, standards and requirements.
- Ensure drawings are clear, accurate and precise.
- Collaborate with project managers, modellers, checkers and editors to ensure drawings are quality and easy to read in the fabrication process.
- Generate RFI's and stay updated with the latest information, design revisions and RFI responses. -Troubleshoot and resolve any drawing-related issues.
- Check that steel modelled is erectable and identify any site erectability issues.
- Review and check drawings for accuracy, clarity and completeness before final submission.
- Assist in delegating and monitoring workload across modellers and editors as required.
- Maintain organised files and proper documentation for all drawings, revisions and approvals. The above list is not exhaustive, and the role may change to meet the overall objectives of the company. Other Duties:
- Telephone/reception input as required.
- Assist senior administrative staff as directed, to analyse, rectify & resubmit rejected invoices for the area as received from the client.
- Attends meetings when requested.
- Attends regular meetings as scheduled.
- Attend site meeting if required.
- Prepares clear, professional reports for presentation & discussion at meetings, when requested.

- Proficient in Tekla Structures for both modelling and drawing production/editing. Experience:
- Relevant commercial or practical experience in Tekla structural steel modelling and/or shop drawing editing. Skills & competencies:

Work Arrangement
- Work Setup: On-site
- Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00 am start time, should complete nine 9 hours work
