Responsibilities

• Focus on Testing and Development: While some coding and feature implementation will be necessary, the primary responsibility will involve designing, developing, and maintaining various tests (e.g., unit tests, and end-to-end tests). The role's workload is distributed as 50% software engineering tasks and 50% test engineering efforts.

• Test Execution: Automated test cases on both iOS and Android platforms, ensuring consistent functionality across different devices and OS versions. Using tools like Espresso, XCTest, or similar frameworks to improve test coverage, speed, and reliability. Promote test automation as a key component of the CI/CD pipeline.

• Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product managers, and UX/UI designers to identify and address potential issues early in the development lifecycle, ensuring a seamless development process with a focus on code quality and user experience.

• Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest mobile testing tools, methodologies, and best practices. Contribute to the refinement of testing processes and advocate for continuous improvement within the team.

• Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to engineers in both test automation and best coding practices, fostering a culture of quality and technical excellence.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in testing mobile applications (iOS and Android) for both functional and non-functional testing (e.g., load, stress, and performance testing). It is okay to be stronger in one than the other. 

• Mobile app development experience with Kotlin or Swift, Java, Objective-C, and Rest APIs.

• Code Quality Advocate: Strong advocate for clean, maintainable, and efficient code in both testing and development.

• Experience driving quality improvements through test automation, code reviews, and mentoring.

• Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex mobile app issues.

• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Nice to have:

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiarity with REST APIs and performance testing tools.

• Previous work in an Agile/Scrum environment.

• Experience with Appium, Xcode, XCUITest, or similar.

• Experience with Kotlin Multi-platform Mobile is a huge plus.
