About the Role:
A Principal MLOps Engineer leads the design, implementation, and optimization of machine learning operations infrastructure and practices. This senior-level position combines deep technical expertise with strategic leadership to drive ML excellence across the organization.

- Architect and implement enterprise-wide MLOps platforms and infrastructure
- Design scalable solutions for model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management
- Establish best practices for ML system reliability, reproducibility, and efficiency
- Lead technical decision-making for ML infrastructure investments
- Drive adoption of MLOps tools and practices across engineering teaSalary range: $99,501.91 – $183,764.31 The salary range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this role. - Define the technical vision and roadmap for ML infrastructure
- Evaluate emerging MLOps technologies and methodologies
- Develop strategies for technical debt reduction and platform modernization
- Partner with stakeholders to align MLOps initiatives with business objectives
- Lead proof-of-concept projects for new ML infrastructure solutions
- Mentor ML engineers and data scientists in MLOps best practices
- Build and lead high-performing MLOps teams
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve ML development workflows
- Drive knowledge sharing and documentation of MLOps practices
- Provide technical guidance and code reviews
What You Will Need:
- Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Some barriers to entry exist at this level (e.g., dept/peer review).
- Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
- Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel (Team Lead).
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years focusing on ML/AI systems
- Expert knowledge of ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) and ML deployment practices
- Deep experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Proven track record building production ML pipelines and infrastructure
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and work experience. Master's degree preferred.
