ML Scientist, Molecular Design Platform

FL117, a venture-back stealth AI x bio startup, is seeking a highly skilled ML Scientist. Here you will build out the methods, models and data that guide the development of a next gen generative model for drug design. We are looking for those excited to work on ambitious projects in a fast-paced environment to push the frontier of AI-powered drug discovery

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with foundation modeling team on the development of next-gen models for drug design.
• Implement the benchmarking protocols, baselines, splits and metrics necessary to guide development of a best-in-class molecular design software stack.
• Conduct analysis of methods, models, and data to guide development of next-gen molecular design stack.
• Identify, onboard and homogenize data from public and proprietary sources in a scalable and reproducible manner to train and benchmark a molecular generation platform.
• Implementation of cheminformatics/bioinformatics pipelines to support the execution of molecular design and selection for synthesis and invitro screening.

Must-have Qualifications:

• MSc or PhD in Computer Science, AI/ML, Computational Biology/Chemistry, or a related field.
• Prior experience with generative AI for chemistry and protein design
• Strong Python skills and experience with PyTorch.
• Prior experience curating/handling large public data

Preferred Experience:

• Contributed to open-source data projects in biology/chemistry. Please send your GitHub, if applicable.
• Strong presence in the ML community through publications and conference proceedings. Please send a list of publications, if applicable.
• Knowledge of biological data formats (FASTA, SDF, PDBx/mmCIF) and domain-specific ontologies/metadata standards
• Experience with models like ESM, DiffDock, ProteinMPNN, OpenFold, etc.
• Familiarity with ML software development and cloud services (Docker, AWS Batch, Step Functions, EKS, AWS ParallelCluster, etc.)
• Experience with librariers like: rdkit, rosetta, prody, biopython, pymol, openmm, dagster, prefect, etc.
