As a Software Engineer, Intern, you'll have the opportunity to spend 12 weeks working on one (or more) of the engineering teams at SingleStore. As a Software Engineer, Intern, you will be empowered to own your projects end-to-end and be an active contributor throughout the product life cycle. To expedite your growth path, you will partner with engineers who deeply care about your success and will lend their expertise to your professional development. Our engineers are not just technical partners/mentors, but are also business partners who are exposed to all areas of the business, working with teams such as product, marketing, and sales.
Role and ResponsibilitiesOur Software Engineers work on small, collaborative teams to help drive our company forward. Our interns are responsible for projects that are deployed continuously into production over the course of their internship. Your work will include everything from writing new features to testing software and you’ll gain a significant understanding of both the product and the business.
Required Skills and Experience- Enrolled in a B.S. Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
- Deep understanding of C.S. fundamentalsStrong programming skills with JavaScript, Golang or TypeScript
- Passionate about building highly reliable software
- Firm grasp of algorithms and data structures

Skills Required
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software design
- Programming experience in Go, Java, Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, or a similar language
- Understanding of operating systems, distributed systems, networking, or databases
- Familiarity with Linux or Unix-based systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with teammates
- Curiosity, ownership, and willingness to learn
- Coursework or project experience in distributed systems, cloud computing, databases, networking, or operating systems
- Experience building backend services, APIs, automation, or developer tools
- Familiarity with containers, Kubernetes, or public cloud platforms
- Experience with observability, monitoring, debugging, or performance analysis
- Experience contributing to production software or substantial technical projects
- Interest in reliability engineering and operating services at scale
