Marubeni-Itochu Steel America (MISA) is part of a global team trading in a wide range of steel products. The MISA team is currently seeking a Human Resources Supervisor in our Houston, Texas office. The Human Resources Supervisor is responsible for the daily conduct of human resources activities in support of MISA employees and assists in human resources planning activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinates and administers payroll and benefits onboarding and offboarding activities.
- Coordinates and administers new hire orientation, onboarding activities, and employee offboarding processes, including completion of new hire and termination checklists.
- Manages benefit administration for employees and other benefit activities such as open enrollment set up and meetings, new hire enrollment and terminations, qualifying events, monthly true-up reconciliation, file feeds, etc.
- Oversee end-to-end payroll processes, including payroll requests, payroll changes, payroll checks, approvals, general ledger reports, and W-2 review.
- Manage timecards and PTO accruals including quarterly PTO accrual reports.
- ACA administration, including reviewing and updating ACA forms before annual distribution.
- Manage expatriates tax processes to ensure accurate compliance.
- Process and manage invoices for payroll, benefits, and related HR operations.
- Maintains personnel files and records; requests or compiles reports from HRIS database as needed.
- Manage and respond to audit requests related to payroll and benefits for 401(k), Worker’s Compensation and company audits.
- Manage and respond to annual Insurance Renewal Request.
- Manage company intranet documents and activities related to benefits and payroll.
- Benefit communications to employees and support employee inquiries.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of human resources administration, effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills. Experience with ADP payroll processing is a plus.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years relevant experience
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

- Usual office working conditions
$60,000-$66,000 annualized base salary
Compensation & BenefitsHourly rate or annual base salary determined by experience and work location.
Non-exempt roles are required to receive time-and-one-half overtime for time worked in excess of 40 hours in a calendar week. Any time worked between 35 hours and less than 40 hours in a work week will be compensated at straight time (the current hourly rate) unless otherwise required by applicable law.
All positions qualify for our Incentive Compensation Plan.
