POSITION | MIS Lead

The MIS Lead will be the single point of ownership for management information systems across functions that report directly to the co-founders, beginning with Operations, LX, Tech Infrastructure, Finance, and the Career Advancement Cell (CAC). Rather than each department building its own reporting in isolation, this role designs one coherent data architecture that serves all five, so the leadership gets a consistent, cross-functional view instead of disconnected trackers. This is a systems-design and ownership role, not a report-writing one.

Key Responsibilities

Cross-functional MIS ownership

  • Design a single MIS architecture that unifies data across Operations, LX, Tech Infrastructure, Finance, and CAC, so the COO can move between departments within one consistent system rather than five separate ones.
  • Set common data standards across definitions, refresh cycles, ownership, and access levels that apply uniformly across all five functions.
  • Prioritize and sequence MIS build-out across departments based on the COO's most pressing reporting gaps.
  • Act as the connective voice across departments, regularly engaging Ops, LX, Tech, Finance, and CAC leads to align them on why the MIS exists and how it serves the institution's broader vision, not just their individual reporting needs.

Operations

  • Track facilities upkeep, hostel occupancy/allotment, procurement status, and vendor performance.
  • Digitize registers and ad-hoc trackers (e.g. the Summer Maintenance Tracker) into the unified system.

Dean of Learner Affairs

  • Own reporting for the Learner Development Tracking System (LDTS) points, activity types, verification status, cohort trends, in coordination with the Dean of Learner Affairs.
  • Track learner engagement patterns for Steering Team visibility.

Tech Infrastructure

  • Track network uptime, IT ticket resolution, and technology asset inventory.
  • Monitor rollout and adoption of institutional tools (e.g. Notion, RishiVerse Tech systems).

Finance

  • Produce recurring budget vs. actuals, cash flow, and grant utilization reports for the COO and CFO.
  • Support board and steering-cycle prep with pre-formatted financial briefs, in coordination with the CFO's office.

Career Advancement Cell (CAC)

  • Track placement pipeline data — student registrations, company outreach, offers, and conversion rates by school and cohort.
  • Build reporting on recruiter engagement and repeat-hire trends to support CAC's employer relationship strategy.
  • Provide placement outcome data (offer rates, packages, sectors) for board, accreditation, and prospective-student communication needs.
Requirements:
  • 4–8 years of experience in MIS, business intelligence, or a PMO-style role, with end-to-end systems-building experience, ideally across more than one function.
  • Strong SQL and hands-on experience with BI/visualization tools (Power BI, Looker Studio, Metabase, or equivalent); working with Python (pandas) for pipelines and automation.
  • Comfortable owning reporting across genuinely different domains: operational, academic/learner, technical, financial, and placements without needing a separate specialist for each.
  • Strong stakeholder management: this role sits close to the COO and needs to work fluidly with Finance, the Dean of Learner Affairs (LX), Tech, Ops, and CAC leads.
  • Able to engage stakeholders across very different functions from facilities and tech teams to the CFO's office and school leadership and align them around a shared reporting vision, not just collect data from them.
  • Comfortable making the case for new data practices to people who don't see themselves as "data people," and getting their buy-in rather than working around them.
  • Prior experience in an education, non-profit, or trust-governed institution is a strong plus, given compliance and multi-body governance reporting needs.
  • High ownership and discretion: the role touches sensitive financial, operational, and learner data.
