The purpose of the Analyst, Analytics - Strategy position is to perform analysis on pricing and credit risk, loan servicing strategies, business policies, processes, and performance champion/challenger tests.

Outcomes and Activities:

  • This position will work from home; occasional planned travel to an assigned Southfield, Michigan office location may be required. However, this position is permitted to work at a Southfield, Michigan office location if requested by the team member.
  • Own analytics projects end-to-end, working with stakeholders to scope the problem, analyzing the data to get insights, and communicating results.
  • Work on high visibility and high business impact problems that directly influence Credit Acceptance business decisions.
  • Understand and translate unstructured questions into data analysis and create a roadmap for potential data solutions.
  • Utilize analytical tools and scripting languages (SAS, SQL, R, Python) to access and analyze data.
  • Conduct deep dives and ad-hoc analyses to identify trends and drivers of performance to add intrinsic value to Credit Acceptance.
  • Deliver effective presentations of analytical results to technical and non-technical audiences and partner with them to identify the right actions.
  • Develop and automate reports to measure the performance of champion/challenger tests, policies, and processes to provide insights to multiple levels of stakeholders.
  • Advocate for business needs with project teams, ensuring strategies are clearly understood and documented.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics etc. - preferred).
  • 2 years (Mid Level) or 3+ years (Senior) of experience in an analytics setting, or a combination of higher education and experience.
  • 2 years (Mid Level) or 3+ years (Senior) of experience in an academic or professional setting using one or more of the following analytical tools: SAS, SQL, R, or Python.

Preferred:

  • Graduate degree (Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics etc.).
  • Professional experience in financial services analytics.
  • Knowledge of loan servicing functions and credit risk management.
  • Experience with pricing and contact strategy optimization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience monitoring analytical experiments and strategies.

Targeted Compensation:

Mid Level Analyst: $85,000 - $116,000 base salary + an annual bonus plan

Senior Analyst: $108,000 - $144,000 base salary + an annual bonus plan

This position is not currently open to individuals who require sponsorship now or in the future to work legally for Credit Acceptance, such as H-1b / H-4 or F-1 OPT visa holders.
