Mid-level User Experience Designer

A thorough understanding of user-centered design methodologies is a must.

This position is part of the Takealot UX Team but is dedicated to Merchant design work. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Experience Design and the Head of Merchant.

Your responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Head of Merchant, product managers & business stakeholders to confirm business objectives and define user objectives & flows.
• Measure the effectiveness of each initiative & refine it.
• Research interaction design trends.
• Conduct research independently.
• Run surveys in a timely and accurate manner.
• Collect survey data, analyze data, and capture and collate data results.
• Interpret the analyzed data.
• Build high-fidelity wireframes and working prototypes.
• Collaborate with technical leads in order to design innovative & engaging user experiences within platform constraints and technical limitations.
• Facilitate user testing and evaluate user feedback to further improve the concept or existing products.
• Work closely with the development & QA teams to ensure successful implementation of the specified designs.
• Propose further research, testing, and designs based on user needs.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications required or equivalent experience 
• You should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in design research, conducting surveys and interviews, and performing data analysis.
• You have at least 5 years of experience working with data sets, and you are comfortable doing data analysis and reporting based on data.
• Experience designing interfaces in a customer and user-centric manner.
• Experience with standard UCD methodologies. 
• Experience with marketplace design & UI design would be beneficial.
