ITA is seeking a Mid-Level Microsoft Cloud Architect to join the team in Fort Eustis, Virginia in a hybrid position.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Mid-Level Microsoft Cloud Architect to support the U.S. Army T2COM mission. The Microsoft Cloud Architect will support the design, implementation, integration, and sustainment of secure and scalable cloud solutions leveraging Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Power Platform, and related Microsoft technologies.


The successful candidate will work closely with senior architects, Power Platform developers, cloud engineers, cybersecurity personnel, Business Analysts, and government stakeholders to translate mission and technical requirements into practical cloud architectures.


The position will focus on developing and implementing cloud capabilities that support application modernization, data integration, automation, identity and access management, collaboration, analytics, and enterprise application delivery. The ideal candidate will have experience operating within DoD or federal government environments and understand the additional security, compliance, governance, and operational requirements associated with government cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the design and implementation of Microsoft cloud architectures supporting T2COM mission requirements.
  • Develop technical architectures leveraging Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Power Platform, and related services.
  • Translate business, application, security, data, and infrastructure requirements into cloud-based technical solutions.
  • Develop architecture diagrams, solution designs, technical specifications, and implementation plans.
  • Support cloud application modernization and migration initiatives.
  • Design and implement integrations between Azure, Microsoft 365, Power Platform, enterprise applications, databases, and external systems.
  • Evaluate existing infrastructure and applications and recommend appropriate cloud modernization strategies.
  • Support development of secure, scalable, highly available, and maintainable cloud solutions.
  • Work with senior architects to establish and enforce cloud architecture standards, patterns, and best practices.
  • Support cloud governance, configuration management, resource organization, and operational standards.
  • Design and implement solutions involving Azure compute, storage, networking, identity, integration, monitoring, and security services.
  • Support implementation of Microsoft Entra ID identity and access management capabilities.
  • Assist with role-based access control, managed identities, authentication, authorization, and least-privilege implementation.
  • Support Power Platform environments and integrations with Azure and Microsoft 365 services.
  • Assist with design of APIs, integration services, event-driven solutions, and data exchange mechanisms.
  • Work with cybersecurity personnel to address applicable security controls and authorization requirements.
  • Support implementation of logging, monitoring, auditing, and security visibility capabilities.
  • Participate in architecture reviews, technical design reviews, and solution assessments.
  • Evaluate proposed Microsoft technologies and determine their suitability for mission requirements.
  • Support cloud deployment and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) processes.
  • Collaborate with developers and engineers to ensure architectural designs are implemented as intended.
  • Develop reusable cloud architecture patterns and reference implementations.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior cloud engineers and technical personnel.
  • Maintain technical documentation and cloud architecture artifacts.
  • Support system accreditation, security documentation, configuration management, and technical reviews as required.
  • Monitor emerging Microsoft cloud capabilities and recommend technologies that provide mission value.
  • Design and support Azure cloud solutions leveraging Databricks, Microsoft Fabric/Synapse, Azure Storage Accounts, Azure SQL, Azure Machine Learning Studio, API Management, and Azure Data Factory.

  • Perform other cloud architecture and engineering duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure architecture, solutions architecture, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and/or Microsoft 365 cloud technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience designing or implementing cloud-based technical solutions.
  • Strong understanding of core Azure services, including:
    • Azure Compute
    • Azure Storage
    • Azure Networking
    • Azure SQL
    • Azure Key Vault
    • Azure Monitor
    • Azure Functions
    • Azure Logic Apps
    • Azure API Management
  • Experience with Microsoft Entra ID and cloud identity concepts.
  • Experience with Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), authentication, authorization, and least-privilege principles.
  • Understanding of cloud networking concepts, including virtual networks, subnets, routing, DNS, firewalls, private endpoints, and network security.
  • Experience developing architecture diagrams and technical design documentation.
  • Experience integrating cloud services with enterprise applications and data sources.
  • Understanding of cloud security, governance, monitoring, and operational management.
  • Experience working within structured software development, infrastructure, or IT service management processes.
  • Familiarity with Power Platform and Microsoft 365 integration patterns.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification.
  • Microsoft Azure Administrator, Azure Security Engineer, or Azure Network Engineer certification.
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert or related certification.
  • Microsoft Power Platform certifications.
  • Experience with Azure Government or other government cloud environments.
  • Experience supporting U.S. Army, DoD, or federal government programs.
  • Experience with DoD RMF, NIST, DISA STIGs, FISMA, Zero Trust, or related cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), including Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD, and DevSecOps practices.
  • Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), containers, or other modern application platforms.
  • Experience with Azure API Management, Service Bus, Event Grid, Event Hubs, or other integration services.
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, or other data services.
  • Experience designing solutions integrating Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, and Power BI with Azure services.
  • Experience with Microsoft Defender for Cloud and Microsoft Sentinel.
  • Experience with Azure Policy, Management Groups, subscriptions, resource groups, tagging, and cloud governance.
  • Experience with private networking and hybrid connectivity.
  • Active Secret security clearance.

Pay range for this position is $125,000 - $140,000 annually.


This position has a broad compensation range due to the complexities of government contracting, including contract pricing, labor category requirements, funding parameters, and varying levels of candidate experience and qualifications.
