Job Purpose:
The Mid-Level DBA will independently manage and optimize databases across both on-premises and cloud environments, focusing primarily on Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB, and MySQL systems. This role involves leading database projects and collaborating closely with IT teams to enhance database performance and security.
Job Duties
- Design, implement, and manage database architecture for enhanced reliability and efficiency.
- Develop and optimize database management and maintenance processes.
- Lead database migration projects and the integration of new database technologies.
- Conduct performance tuning, disaster recovery planning, and ensure robust data security.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior DBA staff.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop database strategies that align with organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
- Build and manage environments following advanced standards and best practices to meet operational and business requirements.
- Lead in the evaluation and adoption of new database technologies and methodologies
Required Qualifications:
- 5-8 years’ experience in database administration.
- Proficient with Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB, and MySQL.
- Experienced with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.) and advanced migration techniques.
Knowledge and Skills:
- In-depth understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
- Advanced skills in scripting and database query languages.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Proactive in learning and integrating the latest database technologies.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of database automation and orchestration tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced certifications in Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB, or MySQL.
- Proven track record of mentoring junior team members.
- Interest in and capability for working in a hybrid environment.
Working Conditions
- Hybrid working environment with the flexibility to work both from the office and remotely.
- May require periodic on-call duties to support critical database issues outside of standard working hours.
- Opportunity to work in rotating schedules to meet the needs of the business.
- Collaborative team setting, often working under the guidance of IT and senior database administration teams.
