Job Description:
A MSSQL Database Administrator (DBA) will keep the database up and running smoothly 24/7. The goal is to provide a seamless flow of information throughout the company, considering both backend data structure and frontend accessibility for end-users.
Responsibilities:
Provision MSSQL instances, both in clustered and non-clustered configurations
Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases.
Handle common database procedures, such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc.
Investigate and troubleshoot database-related issues, including connectivity problems, performance degradation, and data inconsistencies.
Preferred to have knowledge on Configuring Always ON Availability Group, Replication, Clustering
PowerShell scripting knowledge.
Collaborate with development teams to design efficient and scalable database structures.
Investigate and troubleshoot database-related issues, including connectivity problems, performance degradation, and data inconsistencies.
Provide timely resolution and root cause analysis for incidents.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application development, testing, and deployment.
Provide technical guidance and support to developers and end-users.
Profile server resource usage, optimize and tweak, as necessary.
Prepare documentations and specifications.
Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
Willingness for 24/7 shift support and On-Call support
Skills and Qualifications:
8+ years of relevant experience as a MSSQL DBA with automation experience
A minimum of 8+ years of overall experience in IT MSSQL Database Domain (On Prem and cloud) with proven experience in Database Operations.
Install, configure, and maintain MSSQL servers and related tools.
Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
Test and validate backups to guarantee recoverability in case of failures.
Strong proficiency in MSSQL database management and decent experience with recent versions of MSSQL (Preferably 2019 and 2022)
Knowledge of Cloud services, preferably Azure and AWS
Experience with extensive replication configuration and troubleshooting in MSSQL
Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements.
Ability to plan resource requirements from high level specifications.
Experience in designing and automating repetitive processes.
Good Hands-on scripting language, preferably PowerShell
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
