Job Overview:
SmartChoice is looking for a skilled and experienced Tier IV Engineer to oversee our Microsoft UCaaS environments, including Teams integration, Kamailio engineering, Active Directory, and VDI. This role demands a high level of expertise in Microsoft technologies, with a particular emphasis on maintaining stringent security standards to comply with HIPAA, SOC2, PCI DSS, Kari's Law, and 10DLC regulations. The candidate should possess excellent problem-solving skills, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to work effectively with internal teams and third-party vendors to ensure a secure, compliant, and efficient infrastructure.

You will be responsible for…
Kamailio Teams Environment Management:

  • Design, build, and maintain Kamailio Teams environment for SmartChoice customers.
  • Ensure seamless integration with OmniCloud infrastructure for customer environments.
  • Work to find and vet third-party teams for Kamailio Engineering.
  • Collaborate with third-party teams to ensure effective migration of all customers from current SBCs in AWS and Azure onto the Kamailio Design.
  • Stay informed about future Microsoft updates that may impact the product and incorporate necessary adjustments accordingly.
  • Implement and manage SMS for Teams products to enhance communication.
  • Monitor performance and troubleshoot issues within Kamailio Teams setups.

Microsoft Environment Administrator:

  • Manage all Microsoft programs within SmartChoice customer environments.
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions.
  • Facilitate migration from Colo to secure cloud-based VDI for customers.
  • Enforce best practices and security standards during migration processes.
  • Implement and manage Active Directory, including user and group administration.
  • Ensure proper licensing compliance for all Microsoft products.
  • Monitor and optimize performance of Microsoft servers and services.
  • Conduct regular backups and disaster recovery planning for Microsoft environments.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Microsoft-related issues.
  • Stay updated on Microsoft updates, patches, and security advisories to ensure systems are up to date and secure.

Microsoft Client VDI Environment Administrator:

  • Provision and manage virtual desktops for end-users within the VDI environment.
  • Ensure optimal performance and availability of virtual desktops for users.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to VDI connectivity, performance, and user experience.
  • Manage user profiles and permissions within the VDI environment.
  • Implement and enforce security policies for VDI endpoints and user sessions.
  • Monitor VDI infrastructure health and resource utilization.
  • Coordinate with end-users and IT support teams to address VDI-related concerns and requirements.

Collaborate with the CTO and CISO to establish and implement Group Policies and Security Policies.

  • Stay updated on industry standards, regulatory changes, and emerging security threats.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Engage with regulatory bodies and industry associations to maintain compliance.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to foster a culture of security awareness.
  • Utilize automation and threat intelligence tools to enhance security efforts.
  • Monitor and analyze security incidents, investigating root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on security-related matters.

What education & experience you’ll bring...

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in managing Microsoft UCaaS environments, Active Directory, and cloud-based VDI solutions.

What skills & abilities you’ll bring...

  • Deep understanding of Microsoft Teams integration, Direct Routing, Kamailio Engineering, and network security.
  • Strong background in security practices, including patch management, and compliance with HIPAA, SOC2, PCI DSS, Kari's Law, and 10DLC.
  • Relevant certifications (MCSE, MCSA, CCNA, VCP) are preferred, along with experience in security compliance standards.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical and security issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, essential for working effectively with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors.
