Microsoft D365 Business Central Developer
Job Description

RSM’s Dynamics consultants are empowered through our long standing, close relationship with Microsoft, the use of our proven RVM methodology (purpose built for Dynamics 365), a wide range of industry IP and accelerators as well as additional Microsoft-centric tools to help customers stay competitive in a constantly changing environment. We are actively interviewing experienced Microsoft technical professionals to join our Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central practice. As a D365 Business Central Developer, you will work closely with functional and technical consultants to design and create extensions to Microsoft D365 Business Central in VS Code. You will update existing solutions to maintain compliance with D365 Business Central. You will use the Power Platform to extend available functionality in Microsoft D365 Business Central. You will document new functions and assist in training functional and technical consultants. You will create automated test scripts to test new and existing extensions. You will leverage AI whenever and wherever possible to enhance job performance.
You will be a valued member of a team developing industry based solutions to be used by our implementation team within D365 Business Central. Your deep technical knowledge and skills in D365 Business Central will allow you to work with confidence and ensure the success of yourself, your projects, and your clients. This role will require extensive experience with D365 Business Central.
Responsibilities:
- Design and Development in Microsoft D365 Business Central using AL and Power Platform
- Ability to work closely with functional consultants to translate user requirements into functional specifications then into technical development
- Work with and develop AI solutions to empower RSM and our clients
- Through interpersonal and presentation skills, effectively demonstrate the capabilities of D365 Business Central and share knowledge with other teams and team members
- Learn and master industry vertical solutions created by RSM and extend solutions for industry requirements
- Perform quality assurance testing and validation of solutions developed by you and the team
- Perform system configuration and test data creation within D365 Business Central to support extension implementation and testing
- Work collaboratively with a team encompassing many different backgrounds and experience levels
Basic qualifications:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field
- Deep knowledge of both the functional and technical sides of Microsoft D365 Business Central including exposure to the latest release
- 5+ years’ experience with Microsoft D365 Business Central
- 3+ years’ AL development experience including familiarity with DevOps, Git, and Docker
- Ability to perform performance tuning on Microsoft Dynamics NAV
- Ability to interface with team members and clients both in person and remotely
- Understand the functional and technical differences between different versions of Microsoft D365 Business Central and its predecessors
- Experience installing and configuring Microsoft D365 Business Central
- Understanding of some of the more complex technical topics in Microsoft D365 Business Central
- Experience on multiple successful implementations with Microsoft D365 Business Central
- Knowledge of technical developments and trends in application analysis, design, and development
- Knowledge of technical and business writing
- Ability to learn new business processes or applications very quickly
- Maintain a working knowledge of Microsoft D365 Business Central and able to understand changes in order to anticipate cross-system or cross-process impacts
- Experience in a consulting environment strongly preferred.
- Desire to learn, grow, and exceed internal and client expectations.
Preferred qualifications:
- Minimum of two Microsoft D365 Business Central/ NAV certifications (Manufacturing and Finance preferred).
- Complex Delivery Experience
- Prior experience working in manufacturing, food and beverage, retail, and/or life science industries.
- 1+ years’ Power Platform development experience
