Currently our Quality Assurance department are seeking a Microbiologist to join the team!

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Analysis of raw materials and products to ensure compliance with microbiological specifications
• Test factory hygiene, including air, water, fixtures and equipment
• Analyse purified water and feed water samples to ensure compliance with microbiological and chemical specifications
• Perform calibration and maintenance of equipment as required
• Conduct investigations and microbiological risk assessments using sound scientific principles
• Preparation of microbiological media
• Validation of test methods
• Support and encourage continuous improvement initiatives for the benefit of the Quality department and the wider business
• Ensure activities comply with GMP, legal and ethical standards

Job Requirements:

• Tertiary qualifications in Biological Science, preferably microbiology
• Previous experience in pharmaceutical GMP environment desirable but not essential
• Proven ability to work under minimal supervision
• Ability to build rapport, establish and maintain relationships with peers and business contacts
• High level of written and verbal communication with experience writing reports
• Ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines and targets with competing and conflicting priorities
• Ability to follow prescribed and detailed procedures
