The Role
Leads a specialized Revenue Cycle Optimization team focused on Epic workflow optimization, automation, workflow redesign, training, and cross-functional process improvement. SUMMARY:
The Manager, RevCycle Optimization will lead a small, specialized team responsible for Epic optimization, innovation, workflow redesign, training, automation, and cross-functional process improvement across the full Revenue Cycle enterprise. This role will partner with Hospital Billing, Professional Billing, Patient Access, Coding, Denials, Revenue Integrity, HIM, Cash Posting, IT, and other stakeholders to reduce preventable denials, identify net new revenue opportunities, reduce avoidable write-offs, improve Epic workflow adoption, and standardize operational practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the RevCycle Optimization Team and establish a structured approach for identifying, prioritizing, implementing, and tracking Revenue Cycle optimization initiatives.
  • Partner with Hospital Billing, Professional Billing, Patient Access, Coding, Denials, Revenue Integrity, HIM, Cash Posting, IT, and related stakeholders to identify workflow gaps, denial drivers, automation opportunities, training needs, and revenue leakage.
  • Manage a portfolio of Epic optimization, workflow redesign, automation, training, and innovation initiatives tied to denial reduction, net-new revenue capture, avoidable write-off reduction, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead cross-functional workflow reviews to identify root causes of recurring issues, including preventable denials, manual rework, inconsistent Epic workflows, missed automation opportunities, and process variation.
  • Translate operational issues into actionable plans, including Epic enhancement requests, workflow changes, reporting needs, testing plans, training approaches, user adoption support, and benefit tracking.
  • Develop and oversee training materials, job aids, workflow documentation, quick guides, playbooks, and communication plans to support consistent adoption of optimized workflows. Draft for HR review
  • Partner through a dotted-line structure with existing Hospital Billing and Professional Billing denial/reporting analytics teams to ensure priorities are informed by denial trends, operational data, reporting insights, and financial opportunity. • Identify opportunities for Epic workflow automation, robotic process automation, workqueue redesign, reporting enhancements, process standardization, and technology-enabled improvements. • Support change management by aligning leaders, subject matter experts, frontline users, Epic/IT partners, and operational stakeholders around practical implementation plans. • Track financial and operational outcomes, including denial reduction, write-off reduction, net-new revenue capture, productivity improvement, reduction in manual work, and sustained workflow adoption. • Mentor and guide the Senior Analyst, RevCycle Optimization in workflow assessment, data review, project execution, training development, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
BASIC KNOWLEDGE:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant healthcare Revenue Cycle experience.
  • Significant experience in healthcare Revenue Cycle operations, Epic workflow support, process improvement, training, workflow redesign, project management, or related operational improvement work.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives across multiple departments and stakeholder groups.
  • Strong understanding of Revenue Cycle workflows, including front-end, mid-cycle, back-end, billing, denials, reimbursement, operational performance drivers, and user adoption challenges.
  • Experience developing training materials, workflow documentation, job aids, operational playbooks, or adoption tools for operational users.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, problem-solving, prioritization, and project execution skills. Preferred Qualifications
  • Epic certification, Epic credentialed trainer background, or deep Epic workflow experience.
  • Experience with Epic Cadence, Patient Access workflows, authorizations, eligibility, denials, billing, workqueues, or related Revenue Cycle functionality.
  • Experience with automation, robotic process automation, digital transformation, workflow standardization, or technology-enabled process improvement.
  • Experience leading enterprise training rollouts, Epic go-live/post-live support, workflow reset efforts, or Revenue Cycle optimization initiatives.
  • Demonstrated history of measurable financial or operational outcomes such as denial reduction, efficiency gains, write-off reduction, reimbursement improvement, or vendor cost reduction.

Pay Range:

$110,302.40-$182,000.00
